My counter attacks were reserved for those

soooooooooo compulsively rabidly frothing at the fingers in virulent mean-spirited personhood assaultiveness.

I still find such attitudes outrageous on such a forum.

That folks believed or didn't believe it to be a plausible story whether fact or fiction was not that big a deal to me.

Neither was I going to roll over and play dead about reasonable points about it.

OK, people. That'll be just about enough...

The topic is not the membership, the topic is CERN, and this story involving CERN.

Post to the topic, not each other.

It was 78 years ago. How nigh is the end? Unless you are into doom porn, not nigh enough.

Here you go all about why they have a shiva statue outside CERN...

cds.cern.ch...

Funny how when you look you get answers.

Keeping the false narrative of the OP going is fun but after over 15 pages for a fictional story is just plain...well silly.

Yeah. Pretty funny, indeed. I think I linked some of that information. I certainly read it when I chose to link what I did in my post. That really doesn't answer at all the referencing of a "deity" in a science/physics based situation.....
I'm afraid you missed the whole point of my post. oh well.

It's so frustrating to attempt any conversation outside the box, if you will, when everyone shows up just to argue about the ops motivations, or side issues to take the emphasis away from what the op was attempting to broach a conversation about, instead. Everyone ends up distracted by the lowest common denominator, instead of making any forward progress.....

Well looking at your last two threads concerning the LHC...I think it is pretty obvious what you think.

And you think people don't understand what you laid out...well we do and it is hilarious, as it seems you may be the one who doesn't understand what you posted as you are still fishing for guppies to agree with you.

And just because it is in skunkworks that doesn't mean you can just throw all common sense out the window...although it seems you may have with this one.

VERY WELL PUT.

THANKS THANKS.

I've always loved brainstorming as I noted early on. It was just great fun for me. And NOMINAL GROUP PROCESS was about as fun.

Evidently that's impossible hereon--at least about topics like CERN--even in the SPECULATIVE FORUM. Sigh.

The DESPERATE NEED to assault those who do not have one's personal construction on 'reality' is incredible and very difficult to deal with.

I suppose I should just be a wimp and roll over and play dead so that their obnoxious hostilities to the theoretical or hypothetical or plausible stuff in the OP about CERN would at least not become totally shredded in personal assaultiveness. That's just dreary.

But if we could freewheelingly brain storm about plausible, hypothetical stuff about CERN whether spring boarding from this fictional short story or something else--I'd love that. THAT is why I started the thread. I certainly had NO DELUSIONS that the pack of rabid wolves would tolerate the story as anything remotely close to fact. LOL.

It is more of an answer than just posting your opinion...facts work better than opinions, or fantasy.

Well maybe not in this thread as it seems fiction trumps reality when concerning the LHC.

What point they tell you why it is there...unless you can provide something other than fantasy I am all for it...but fantasy isn't proof, but as the OP has shown fantasy runs this thread...to hell with the truth because fantasy rules.

Woo Hoo. Fantasy Island here we come.

ok tsurfer. So, you don't see a fairly obvious oxymoron presented by the positioning of a Shiva statue in front of a cutting edge, experimental physics building, breaking new ground, perhaps even literally? There are surface oriented explanations for everything around you, including Santa Claus is watching your every move so be good or you get coal at Christmas.

Truth? You wanna debate truth in the current paradigm?

I understand completely that the statue was a gift from India and the history behind that. But there is more meaning there than you are willing to recognize.

You can think outside the box all you want, but that doesn't mean you throw your common sense right out the window.

I am all for interesting conversations outside the box, but when that box is opened to reveal a science fiction story that can be proven wrong the box needs to be closed.

Well then since we are talking about outside the box here then do you believe a sharknado could actually happen...I mean hey since you want to have an out of the box discussion what is your thought about that?

Do you see the point here...out of the box thinking is fun...but it works bettter with sci fi then it does with reality.

No you can discuss this in skunkworks all you like, but villifying those who disagree with your pushing of science fiction as real is where the problem lies.

Also you only want a discussion with those who agree with you...because since page one anyone who disagrees with you gets the attitude.

So you can act as though you want a serious discussion from both sides...your posts show differently.

WHAT PART OF POSTING ON TOPIC ARE SOME HAVING SUCH AN ISSUE WITH?

The OP is not the topic of the thread.

This won't be said again.

If the topic isn't to your tastes, move on to another. Please.
