The votes are being counted by hand.
At General Elections, we have to wait at least an hour before the first results start coming in. The urban votes normally come in first.

No news yet, but Gibraltar will probably declare first (And they are almost all voting remain because the Spanish will hammer them if the UK leaves the EU).

I've just checked, and it looks as though 65,000- 75,000 is the average size of constituency.
Obviously Britain is smaller than Canada with fewer empty areas, population more compact (which reduces the distance the ballot boxes have to travel).
At General Elections there are certain constituencies which like to race each other to be the first to "declare". I don't think it will work ike that this time.

Be interesting to know who the 84 MPs are...mm. Discussing it now on live feed on BBC website. Cameron has been there for 11 years! Time to go out I think maybe and will be a leadership contest/challenge?

I think they were identified as "LEAVE" supporters, including Boris, which looks intriguing.

(correcting Freudian slip)

I'll probably still be up.

@Disraeli- Yes we have much more open space but our population still tends to be mostly urban. Hell, a quarter of our population is in the Golden Horseshoe. From Niagara Falls to Oshawa. That's less than 200 Kms.

But Boris was leave? I know there was some talk about him replacing Cameron as PM after the referendum.

Yeah, said it was family reasons, though I wouldn't be surprised if specific threats were made against him or his family that caused him to step back.

Not known as a quitter, Nige.

As for saying remain have edged it, practically the whole country is expecting them to, by hook or by crook.

He's just making sure he under promises and hopes to over deliver.

Yes, I made a Freudian slip which I have just corrected. I meant "Leave".
