Trump is courting the religious right now. He's speaking with evangelicals and religious leaders, using all the proper dog whistles to let them know he supports their views. Yesterday, he met with...

... over 400 of the most bigoted, most homophobic and most influential anti-LGBT advocates in the United States — from Family Research Council’s Tony Perkins to James Dobson, founder of the Focus on the Family — the bedrock of the religious right, which has been a prominent part of the base of the Republican Party for decades.

Trump is Proving How Dangerous He is to the LGBT Community

Donald Trump is proving that he very much will be a force against LGBT equality if elected president. And he’s doing it in a more insidious, under-the-radar way than any previous GOP presidential nominee.

Though he rarely raises his positions against LGBT rights on the campaign trail, Trump is making pacts with anti-LGBT forces. Today, Trump spoke at the Road to the Majority summit in Washington, an event attended by Christian right activists and sponsored by the Faith and Freedom Coalition and Concerned Women for America, both of which fight against LGBT rights. “I’m with you 100 percent,” he said, and, knowing the event was televised live on the cable networks, he spoke with a dog whistle on LGBT rights, alluding to attacks on “marriage and family” and championing “religious freedom,” which of course has been the term used by evangelicals to deny LGBT people of rights.

And people wonder why they protest him????

Islam and Christianity are both anti-LGBT

So in your mind there is no difference between taking philosophical position in a debate and rounding gays up in trucks for public execution? It's all black and white to you?

Christians have killed the LGBT people before and let's not forget about the Uganda. Some in the Religious Right like Pat Robertson funded the government in Uganda that supports imprisoning or killing the gay people. The rhetorics are not that much different. Yes Christians have mellowed a bit but don't pretend to think that without the laws in place they'll behave.

Is this the only way you know how to "debate"? Why don't you address WHAT I SAID, instead of making up hyperbolic and extremist crap?

And look up qualitative and quantitative, so you actually understand what I said.

Yes, but Deborah Fikes is not a known, anti-LGBT leader. Tony Perkins is.

This is just intellectually dishonest. Especially when you guys preach the whole "tiny minority" rhetoric. Your lack of reason or logic baffles me.

You really hate it when your hypocrisy is exposed or questions are asked that if you answer them, will expose that hypocrisy. You're trying to exaggerate an actual tiny minority of fringe figures who at their worst, disagree with LGBTQTRSUVWXYZ on a philosophical level. They don't hold any real power and don't represent any real threat. In fact the violence that has transpired, came from a left winger who shot up one of the FRC's offices. You do all this in order to deflect and distract from a real threat that we witness daily, all around the world and right here in the US. You do this because of your ideology and your ideology comes before reason or logic.

That's it? No counter-argument? Nothing? Well come back when you can make a better argument than that.

The people you mentioned are a VERY tiny minority and do not represent Christians in the western world. For you to make the comparison in an attempt to apologize for extreme Islam is transparent and pathetic.

Are you the one who thinks that all Muslims are the same? If so you have no room to talk about this. Lack of reason and logic? HAH!

Don't you just love their 'logic' ?

All muslims aren't responsible for terrorist attacks, then turns around and days ALL Christians are.

They just LOVE trying to have it both ways.

When have I said that? Feel free to quote. Many Muslims are pretty extreme by western standards though, even Muslims in the west. World polling bears that out.

ACT UP went off the deep end a long time ago, and they do NOT speak for LGBT citizens, or the left. Dave Rubin has been doing a lot this year to expose the regressive left vocal minority - his interviews, especially with Milo Yianopolis, go into a lot of detail about the hijacking that has happened and the fight to get back to sanity.

It's a question because by your statement it did seem that you think all Muslims are the same. If not then what was the point of your statement?

You said this:

The people you mentioned are a VERY tiny minority and do not represent Christians in the western world. For you to make the comparison in an attempt to apologize for extreme Islam is transparent and pathetic.

It is the same way with Muslims. Radical Muslims are a tiny minority too and do not represent Muslims in the western world.

And I find it insulting that you accused me of apologizing for extreme Islam.

Toughen-up, snowflake.

If you can't stand by what you say or take the time to educate yourself to ensure you are not ignorant in your own positions, you deserve what you get.

It is not a personal attack or a violation of T&C's to highlight the fact you are misinformed.

I post a response that pretty well sums this up, that these are fringe loonies who don't represent any bigger group or movement, and it's immediately followed by four bickering "shut up, no you shut up!!" posts. ATS is getting grosser...
