Hi, I thought I would start a fun thread this time, so here's a little short poem i would like to share, it was just of the top of my head of something i was thinking about at the time

please share, if you want to, Thanks,

Before there was time when i knew it all,
then all of a sudden, i had a great fall,
the fall im talking of, was my inception.
when all i knew was love and perfection,
then i was born and conditioned to forget,
is it only in death, that i'll escape this net?

a wee quick poem, not great but alright and fun to do

Gene, Gene made a machine
and
Joe, Joe made it go
and
Bart, Bart blew a fart
and
blew the whole damn thing apart.

Its the only one I can remember............................

ha ha reminds me of this one from my 'Scottish' childhood,

Keech Toly and Bum Fart
both went down to the public Park
Keech Toly couldny swim
so BumFart threw him in

Single Tear

A single tear drop gets caught on my lashes,
Pauses there for a moment before it passes,
Down my face and falls gracefully,
To join the others I've shed silently.

Thanks,

Guess I'll bite. Here's one I wrote about a year ago after falling in love.

'Broken knees go hand in hand
Only thing to please the daemon's brand
Mark of the beast we both do share
Already in hell you make me not care
Mother of all lies do they pierce
Deep down where something fierce
Lurks my true self deserving you
All black and grey now turning blue'

That's a good poem Dav!

It reminds me of Pink Floyd's "Welcome to the Machine".

As I see her...

As I see her, time has changed,
As I see her, walls of love are moved.

I see her as, a sky of love,
I see her as, the deep oceans past,

She sees me as,her love of the past.

A ribbon of silver falls away underfoot
Winnowing beguilingly between gorse and heather
Here and there, giant hands push up fingers
Of spruce and elm, of birch and larch
I heard a voice in the air behind me
It was my father's voice, he said
No self respecting mystic or holy man
Is concerned with man made works of art
...and I was thrown upon the landscape

Falling Through Space Together

Bones of ancestors ground to dust
On a hurricane blown across the Atlantic
Carried into clouds with our recycled tears
Up into stratosphere
What wasted message do we send?
90 years of radio ads going out to forever
Cell phone conversations stuck in rush hour traffic
Another wish upon a star…
Freeze dried astronaut # collides with spent rocket boosters
Footprints wander across the moon
Our dreams
Our nightmares
Jumbled up in orbit
Around the sun around the sun
Unintended consequences.

Hey Dav,

I thought it would do no harm to give your thread a bump and take the opportunity to answer your question.

It isn't about a man in a painting, although I can see why you might have thought it was. It is about becoming one with nature and losing the sense of self, in a mystical way. I would have added another verse or two but was not sure how my attempt at 'prose' would be perceived by others.

Thanks for the 'quality' comment.

Regards midicon.

Thanks, midi.
ah! now i see.
i suppose some of the best poetry is done by letting your thoughts go and letting your "true self", "divine spirit", "soul" or whatever you want to call that mystical energy that resides within us all, speak!, thought provoking poetry is often done in a "prose" style, im not that knowledgeable on a lot of poetry tbh, but i do love the poem "Invictus" as it can lift you up and inspire you. Also one of my favourite lines from a Rabbie Burns poem, "O wad some Power the giftie gie us
To see oursels as ithers see us!" ..... not sure what poem,i just know the line lol,
regards, Dave.
