I am going to ask you the same thing:

Didn't we just have a whole thread where the argument was that it was in NO way acceptable for someone to assault a person merely for making a verbal threat by throwing water on him?

I haven't seen any violence towards other people for who they support, so I cannot really say at the moment. Would you humor me with an example?

I believe you have missed the overall point. It's not just about whom they support politically, but also about the policies certain candidates advocate for and the rhetoric they use.

Didn't we just have an entire thread about how making verbal threats was NO excuse for someone to throw water on the person making the threat?

I don't believe I said anything like that on that particular thread, but that instance is a good example. A Trump supporter physically acted-out because of a threat made against her laptop on twitter.

Both were idiots.

Both sides have their idiots.

As if that's the only violence to look at? I have no issue with people protesting Trump as long as they don't get violent... and I'm 100% sure that violent interactions between protesters and supporters weren't always started by protesters. Look what happens when just a few protesters show up, they get punched and thrown out (talk about free speech suppression) but let's look at why Trump is being protested to begin with and some of the violence and hatered sparked by his rhetoric.

Protests are fine. Most of the reasoning I have heard from anti-Trump protesters has been based on incorrect information, but they still have the right to protest.

Violence is not OK and I will condemn anyone who resorts to it , regardless of the 'side' who perpetrates it. Like I said though, the vast majority of the violence is coming from anti-Trump people who are going well beyond peaceful protest.

As for the 'rhetoric' argument, it was, is, and will always be complete rubbish. No basis in fact at all and being used an as excuse for violence.

Trump has spoken openly about the fact he'd like to punch some guy screaming and agitating at his conferences, though has stepped away from doing so in the past few weeks. Have you never lost your temper before and said something you shouldn't say?

As for other charges of racism, anti-women etc... there is not a single thing he has said that supports those views.

You wanted honesty.. why not be honest? These violent agitators were around long before Trump ran for President. He is just their latest excuse to spew their hatred at anything in society that goes against their extreme liberal agenda. It's not a surprise that groups like BLM and La Raza are involved. Why are they protesting against Trump when he has said and done nothing racist? In fact he is openly trying to help their causes.

But here you are excusing it by blaming Trump.

Essentially, what it all boils down to for you is this:

If Trump had never said X. No one would have ever had any reason to act out on either side.

That's like saying, "If Palin had not used targets on her website, Gabby Giffords would not have been shot."

Where did I say I blame Trump?

All I have said is that both sides have their idiots. One side cannot claim to be better than the other.

Essentially, you are projecting the "standard" argument on to what I have said. I've said nothing of the sort.

Those that are anti-Trump, pro-establishment won't be happy until you hate the same things they hate and support the same things they support.

There will NEVER be a time where people will just accept the fact that some will always have a different opinion.

Stop being coy. Considering both threads featured people using the name "Trump" prominently, I think we all know what you are working so hard to avoid.

But please, show me instances of mass chaos at a Bernie or Hillary rally ... I'll be waiting.

I find it interesting that anti-Trumpers have shifted to the narrative of 'both sides are to blame'. Not so long ago everything seemed to be Trump's fault and the cause of the anti-Trump violence was placed, by them, firmly at Trumps door.

It's obvious now that the truth is being widely accepted that the problem is with the so called protesters and in fact Trump is benefiting as people recoil from the thugs protesting against him.

The spin that it was Trump's fault has been well and truly rejected, so now it's the softer 'it's both sides fault' that we hear. It still is not going to work though. The fault lies with those protesters who resort to agitation and violence. There would be no problems at all if they protested peacefully at Trump rallies.

You are taking my comments out of context.

What I said was in reference to both sides having political motivations when engaging in protests/violence, not just one side being politically-motivated while the other is virtuous in their violence because they are beating-back violent bullies.

Go back to the original post I was responding to.

But please, show me instances of mass chaos at a Bernie or Hillary rally ... I'll be waiting.

Why? Just because there has not been "mass chaos" at their rallies does not mean the other side is not prone to violence in certain situations. Examples have been provided. You are trying to take a very tunnel-visioned approach and it is a great example of the dishonest and disingenuous nature of this debate.

Well, then don't support him.

But justifying those that want the supporters dead is poor form.

That is demonstrably false. There have been cases of Trump supporters acting-out violently against peaceful protesters. There has even been cases where protesters were attacked while being escorted out, even while under the control of security.
