After a long day traversing New York City the perfect cocktail to ease the city angst is a Manhattan.
Similar to a martini it uses a strong base, in this case bourbon, with a similar proportion of modifier (sweet vermouth versus dry) and a dash of
bitters which binds it together. While made with brown spirits it is still something you can drink and enjoy in the spring. I use homemade brandied
cherries which I will post the recipe for as well.
3 Ounces 90 proof or higher Bourbon or Rye
1 Ounce Carpano Antica vermouth
3 Dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Brandied Cherry
Stir first three ingredients with ice until very well chilled. Strain into a coupe or martini glass and garnish with the cherry. Act
