What are you guys neighbors?

I'd have a gin and tonic, please. Extra lime.

(wow. It's been about 30 years since I had one of those!)

It's strange, but I only live in a small town lol.

I just checked my cupboard and only have cognac, brandy, gin, whiskey, vodka and beer lol.

All you really need at that point is a few really good modifiers. A couple of vermouths, maybe a few other things and you can make a decent amount of cocktails.

I had a gin and bitter lemon last night.

When I say "a gin and bitter lemon", I mean I lost count.

I found it here at a Italian wine store. They have everything!

Good deal. I will create a new booze scavenger hunt list for you.

Modifiers? Like coke and lemonade or something else?

Nope. Network and I are both in the Evil Mason Club and have shared adult beverages in real life.

One of a select few that got to meet his Royal Evilness in person.

Ok I am ready to stock up. I have friends flying in next week from Manhatten, over by you!

No, other liqueurs. Besides vermouth, Campari or Aperol are good to have (ask Quantum), maybe Luxardo maraschino, Chartreuse, an Amaro. I should probably list everything I have so people have an idea why my liver hates me so much.

Ah. Gotcha.

I'll be doing some "shopping" on Monday (that's what I'll tell the misses) so I'll see what's available.

Let me know what you are making for appetizers or main course and I will give you some suggestions. This is a good time of year for cocktails as you can still do some of the colder weather drinks and the spring stuff too.

I will list all of my modifiers over the weekend.

As long as you always have a bottle of gin, rum, tequila, bourbon, rye, cognac and vodka you can pretty much make anything with some good mixers.

I've been trying the obscure ones, and largely should stay with the known brands. I did hit it good with Blade and Bow. It's a blend from Stizle Weller and really tasty. (a bit pricey) But the gargantuan bottle of Woodford makes me smile when things are grey.

I'd enjoy hearing about the fist fight during a drunken stupor. Those are always good stories. Hopefully at some point we can get together.

That reminds me. I need to buy some red wine. Misses wants me to make some mulled wine. I add vodka, cinnamon, lemon and lime rind (not orange) and a little sugar. Then after it's been simmering I add nuts and cranberries.

Weller always makes good stuff.

I should be down your way at some point. I will try and grab something from the duty free that is export only if I can.

You get the smokes.

Rye and tequila I don't normally have because neither of us drink it really. Everything else is easy to get hold of.

I need to help you with that drinking problem.

Rye is Bourbon's spicier cousin and makes awesome cocktails. Drinking it straight can be a beast though.

Tequila, believe it or not, makes very good cocktails. I keep three or four different types on hand plus a couple of mezcals.

Post it up son. We need people other than me in that thread. I will give you some options once you set the menu.

I'm thinking a nice classic champagne based cocktail to show what a sophisticated renaissance man you are.

Nope. I know most people do, but I prefer to add a bit more cinnamon than normal. I have a thing for cinnamon. Don't know what it is. I like to soak a couple sticks in cheap brandy too. Gives the brandy a different type of taste.
