if you have one where did you get it?
what size?

i just ordered mine from here

www.oldeshillelagh.com...

technically mine is a good luck charm.

i got the 14" with the inscription
'"Made in Shillelagh, Ireland, for the keeping of Law & Order in This House / On These Premises ".

i love it. it was only $35 and that included shipping. it got to me in less than 10 days. the website is closed cause he is out harvesting the blackthorn now.
i have mine hanging up above the door.

as soon as his site goes back up though i am going to order a cudgel.

you can see the one i want in this pic.

5th one down. $95. lead loaded.

www.oldeshillelagh.com...

unless of course he has something else i prefer when he is done harvesting.

so if you have one where did you get it? wondering if it is a legit shillelagh or is it some knock off from budk?

Is there anything more Irish?

How do I attach to an AR-15?

I don't get it...?

It must be an Irish thing to charge hundreds for a walking stick...

yeah.
might have to do with the fact they are hand carved and take a couple years with the curing process and all that.
seems like a good price to me.

i was looking at clubs on other sites. saw a cool looking telescoping club on budk for $45.

id rather pay the money to have one from wood harvested in ireland, hand carved by a dude in ireland and cured over time like they used to do it.

may not be worth it to everyone but it was important to me

the telescoping club was pretty sweet.

I'm Irish (among other things) and don't get it either. Seems a bit much for a stick to me.

Then again, it might be a lucrative business to get into....Americans will buy anything with a funny name from abroad, the more expensive the better.

wow $35 for a stick, i hope you like it and prod many things, but seriosly, why do american's romanticise Ireland so much.

Good for whacking Leprechauns, not much else. Useful nonetheless.

My shillelagh was my fathers. It is a 36' gentleman's walking shillelagh. I also have a 6 foot staff with a curved top that I bought for walking pilgrimages about 35 years ago for about $25. I also have a fighting staff of hard oak that I found at a country yard sale 15 years ago for $5. That is the one I keep right next to the front door.

I also have a shillelagh with a good solid staff and perfect handle that I use to balance me when I am stooping over to put logs on the evening fire. That one stays right next to the fire place.

Then there is my Bulls penis walking staff. One place makes em that I know of. The take the entire reproductive organ of the bull upon slaughter. They stretch it out, give it a twist and form it to style then add the preserving stuff and coating and bingo. A bull's dick cane. New I think they run upside of $90 bucks but mine cost me $6 at an auction several years ago because everyone else thought it was just a wooden stick.

I'm just joshin' ya. They look really nice, and I'm sure they're lovingly crafted and all.

But it does seem like something an Irish friend of mine would try to do..."Hey, buy this magical Irish stick!" ... Then I'd probably look at him and accuse him of having Leprechaun DNA and trying to trick me.

LOL!

I have an oosik ... look that up if you don't know what that means. I hand it to people and let them examine it before I tell them what it really is. It's about 16" long.

I was talking to a few guys from Ireland...and they were saying Boston quote, "Feels more Irish than Ireland..it's weird..."

It's be like going to a town in China and it being a reproduction of everything American, every American stereotype with Chinese guys selling dirty water hot dogs and pizza slices on every corner...
