Yeah! I'm down with that big time! OP your talking some old cold war propaganda! Your in the 21st century and sh$ts gonna change. The people are risen.
. Between 2000 and 2011, U.S. aggregate net worth increased from $28.9 trillion to $40.2 trillion
Much of that growth was driven by stocks, which grew in value by $742 billion during the final quarter of last year. The value of residential real estate also rose by $356 billion.
The most recent solid data on this runs through 2013. As MONEY recently reported, an analysis by researchers at the University of Michigan last year found that the median wealth of a U.S. household, in inflation-adjusted dollars, dropped 36% from 2003 to 2013. In that same period, the richest 5% of households saw their median net worth increase by 12%.
In 2003, the wealthiest 5% of Americans had a net worth 13 times that of the median household. By 2013, that disparity had nearly doubled, with these households holding 24 times that of the median.

Surprised to see members on ATS who don't realize the implications of Col sanders in office.(free chicken with pot) A giant bureaucracy where there are no services and your liberty and property seized. Just look at what damage the socialist B.O. has done in the last 7 years. Be very careful what you wish for..

Better to be 80% free and alive than 100% free and dead.
That has to be the most depressing thing I've read all morning.
Sorry.

I'd like to think I'm pragmatic in thought as well.
That being said, I'll be dead in the next 20 years. That's life, or the end if it, to be specific. I'm old.
So I don't have much to lose.

Engineering, for the kids.
They'll be prepared.
The thing is, we used to look to ourselves when faced with problems, NOT run to government for solutions.
Jobs gone in the next 50 years?
We need entrepeneurs to create industries that will need and hire people.
So we need to support businesses, encourage businesses.
Not punish them.
