Hmm, well im not a helo fan and for some reason that pic only half loads for me so I'm stumped as well.

BTW, on an off-topic note Peronemlin, How do you get the text below your name? "The human chainsaw" bit? Do you need a certain number of points or something because I see alot of people with that and I can't find it on the edit profile page. I know you have to contribute to have writer and scholar but can't find anything on that.

Also who is that guy in all your avatars?

OK...That helicopter is an Aerospatiale 315B Lama. Waynos was close with the Alouette II answer, but not correct enough. The Lama used the airframe of the Alouette II and the power plant and rotor system of the Alouette III.

A Lama link

Yes, you must buy that at the ATS Store... The first two items:
Custom Title, first line: 500 points
Custom Title, second line: 750 points

The guy in my avatar...? It´s me, of course.

Hmm

According to www.mustangsmustangs.net...

"In 1968 the company fitted a Roll-Royce "Dart"510 turboprop engine to a F-51D (N6167U), this was so successful that it was planed to fit the more powerful Lycomming T55-L-9 turboprop engine. However by this time Cavalier sole the rights to the "Mustang" to the Piper company."

"On the 4/11/1970 the prototype "Turbo-Mustang III" was delivered to the Piper factory, were Piper undertook the redesign of the "Turbo Mustang" started by Cavalier, with the fitting of the Lycomming engine and other modifications (resulting in only 10% of parts in common with the F 51D) to produced a new aircraft the PA 48 "Enforcer"."

So the aircraft in that pic, which is also on that page is a Turbo Mustang III that was converted to a Piper PA-48 Enforcer. But I think in that pic it is still a Turbo Mustang II because in the piper the Exhaust is on the left side plus ther serial number changed when piper rebuilt it.

PA-48

N6167U

Line view of Cavalier Turbo Mustang III, notice the blunt Dart TP nose

veltro, you got me. I apologise. I was intending it to be a pic of the Piper Enforcer but in my haste I didn't check as thoroughly as I should. You are, of course correct.

Peronemlin, you are soo very nearly there but you have to go just a little further with the actual type name of the plane in the pic.

No worries Waynos.
That one had me scratching me head as I first thought it was an Enforcer as well. They are very similar but the cowling/exhaust gives it away. I just stuck a few pics on there to prove my point.

As for
#4. Tupolev Tu-12
#5. Fairey Spearfish
That was a good one. Another "I know it but I don't know what it's called" plane.

Peronemlin

#1. PZL P.23 Karas
#2. Junkers JU-287
#5. Petlyakov PE-4 which is a radial engined PE-2 if not, I don't know lol.

1, PZL P.23

2 Ju 287 prototype

3 Ilyushin Il 40

4 ENAER Pillan

peronemlin, the name I was looking for was T-6 Texan, but it is clearly the same plane.

Tu-12 and Tu-77 are both correct, as is Spearfish

No. Not a Tu-2.

But think positive, you now have 5 million aircrafts less to worry about...
