Yeah, well I do my best to stay in shape when I'm not staying in shape at my job!
I'm not sure what they expect from me, but I gave them $600 bucks for the wife and me last year, I think. In all 8 years of marriage I don't think we even broke even on taxes.

I've got a very small business here that I'm working with and my wife works for one of those 49-51 employee grading companies. Thank God she makes a good paycheck, but who knows how long that will last. In CA her company has to replace loaders and other rigs, like yesterday. Construction in CA seems like we all got our heads up our butts.

I don't need to take a day off and then get held up by losers. I do but that's because I am a nice guy!

My boy had an ER trip to remove a fishing hook from his finger this spring. 15 minute visit with less than 5 minutes actually involving any sort of procedure. Used a shot of numbing medicine, a needle to cover the barb, forceps to pull the hook out, liquid stitches, a Monster Jam band aid, and a prescription for an antibiotic. $2200 when insurance adjustments were done! I called the ER and insurance company about this and found that it is the direct result of subsidizing ACA requirements... in other words, I'm deemed "able to pay," so I get to cover a bunch of folks unable to pay. 3 years ago when we had this same thing play itself out, only with him getting a treblehook removed from the back of his head (We're Alaskans, we fish ALOT), the total bill was $400 and I only had to cover $100 of that after insurance adjustments and coverage.

Affordable is only affordable if you're on the damn dole.

My wife had a couple UTI years ago because she was on BC. It was 300 cash in E.R. because we didn't have health insurance. She got sick again last year and it was over 1000 bucks. I will work til the day I die if my wife needs a medical treatment. I have life insurance for her, if I'm dying. Plus, I provided her with the best family ever.

Off topic, I lived on Adak Island, AK for a few years growing up. I guess my Dad had never fished because we couldn't catch anything. Salmon spawning, nothing. We didn't even have a net. I had to chase one out of the water and onto rocks to catch our first one.

Hard to blame the people taking advantage of a system which is conceived and regulated by politicians.
