ur love story was my chick flick for the day

yes.
I was hooked from when the guy laughed and said can we talk through the door then?

I laughed myself but I didn't expect him to show up! I was such a hot mess that day! I looked like crap but he didn't care! I was worried about my HAIR! HAHA! I hadn't colored it in a month so I had some grey showing lol. My apt was a mess and my son was running around yelling "cars." lol I thought my mom was knocking! I'm glad it was him though!

What he did I will never forget! It melted my heart. If he breaks it, I break him lol. I have told him this but he says it wont happen and tells me not to break his. lol

Skid Mark!!

Oh come on! If chicks have unrealistic expectations it's because they weren't taught what was real and they live in a fantasy land! It's called the Cinderella Complex. There is a book on this topic. I've read it, it was good!

Sure "The Notebook" is my favorite movie. It's a great love story that spans a lifetime! Who wouldn't want a love like that but I also know that doesnt' happen in life, often. Sure real love stories like you see in movies can happen. There are quite a few love story movies that are based on actual events.

So there is love and romance like that out there.

I have never expected any man to be romantic. Do I tell them in the beginning I like it? Sure. Heck if they know me they know i like that sappy girly stuff, can't help it. lol I have had some boyfriends who were some what romantic and others who didn't have a romantic bone in their body. It didnt' make me love them any less because they had other qualities I liked.

My man now is definitely the MOST romantic and I love it!

Frozen, The Fault in our Stars, If I Stay.

I so want to see "The Fault In Our Stars," I have heard I will need tissues!

I kind of want to watch it alone lol. I'm sure my honey wouldn't mind watching it but if it's sappy and I'll cry I would rather watch it alone first. lol.

I hate chick flicks but honestly sometimes a good ole sappy chick flick is good for a mans soul. Just let it go, sometimes that tension that's been building gets released with a little tear jerker, lol.

Ok I will watch it alone!! I know he wouldn't care if I watched it and cried but I would feel slightly weird. If I had seen it already then I would be fine but I don't know how I will react. I bawled my eyes out the first time I saw "The Notebook" and thank god I was alone! LOL Heck I still do when I watch it, especially the end!

No, The Princess Bride is not primarily about the romance in the way a true chick flick is. If it was, it would ruin the whole subtext of the entire movie being the story as imagined inside the head of an 8-year-old boy. They're only capable of so much romance. So while the story is about "true love," it's true love the same way your little boy is thinking about it - in a rather cartoonish way.

Hey, it does have a super sweet love story in it. I guess it would help if I defined what I thought a chick flick was. To me, it's primarily about the romance - so it's likely to be a drama or a rom com that's character centered. Most of the action of the movie takes place in the characters' emotions and emotive states. Moves like Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing (one of my favorites and one of the few chick flicks I like). Titanic is another sort of crossover, but the only reason the movie HAS a story is because of the romance, so it is a chick flick despite all the crashing, bashing, sinking of boat, death and dying. It comes as close to not being a chick flick as The Princess Bride comes to being one.

Steel Magnolias ... not maybe a romance, but certainly all about women and their issues.

Oh no I know. The Princess bride isn't a chick flick.
I just meant about the love part.
Ok a little embarrassing. I used to pretend I was Westley.

The love part was the main thing I cared about.
Then the inconceivable guy,
and the Rats of unusual size of course.

When I said well, I meant, not a chick flick, but....
My copy is on VHS, so I guess maybe I can find it online haha..

I like pretty woman and dirty dancing..
Never liked Richard Gere, but still I like pretty woman anyway

Not here non-stop, just in the afternoons. Stuck in part-time hell.

I'm here for the convo. Some good folks to talk to on interesting subjects. I like to do a little writing, and there are plenty of topics to spark ideas and point me at places to go have a look see to further my own brainstorming. Plus, I learn things.

This is also one of the few places where you can actually talk about controversial things without the general tone devolving into "But you're a poopy-head!" "Nuh-uh! You are!" and so on and so forth.

Bah! At least you could be Westley. As a girl, I was stuck with Buttercup.

I just love to quote it. As a gamer, that movie is quote gold, just like Bill Paxton's character from Aliens.
