FBI agents raided iconic Subway pitchman Jared Fogle’s Indiana home amid a child porn investigation Tuesday.

The 37-year-old was detained in his Zionsville house as a special taskforce removed electronics from the property and took them to a mobile forensics van parked in his driveway, WTHR reported.

Fogle's wife and kids left just before the 6:30 a.m. raid.

He is not under arrest at this time.

Well..this is certainly something I never saw coming. Wonder how fast Subway is going to drop him. I also wonder how many kids will come forward with abuse charges. It always amazes me how someone that is practically a household celebrity of sorts can do something like this and get away with it.

Habeas corpus. If he was doing this he obviously did not get away with it and if he was not involved let due process take its course and try not to convict him in the court of public opinion.

How can they seize evidence (his property) without arresting him? That isn't due process.

Did ya ever consider the possibility that he didn't do anything and maybe somebody wanted to destroy his life by starting the rumor that he is a pedo?....

No, probably not......

Convicted by public opinion and rumor control....

If he's not under arrest, maybe he isn't the primary suspect of the investigation. I don't know. Just wondering. I don't really care if he is guilty or anything, just trying to explore all angles.

A search warrant to search for evidence relevant to a case. What's new about that?

edit:

My question would be "what is the probable cause" for the warrant.

Damn you Ronald McDonald, you set the former fat man up for the fall.

Doesn't look good though, since he's a celebrity and a corporate spokesperson they must have had very solid evidence of wrongdoing by someone in that house. Yikes, Subway corporate must be on pins and foot-long needles this morning.

Well, look on the bright side; if he gets sent to jail he can still get his foot-longs.

Sure I considered that. Seems the President of his non-profit was busted a while back for the same thing.

I don't think a rumor of his being a pedo would warrant the FBI raiding his home. He obviously knew it was coming as his wife and kid left just before the raid at 6:30 AM.

I have seen peoples names dragged through the mud on the allegations of child porn.
A dude i went to college with set up a file sharing hub in his house, sort of like a kicka$$ torrents based out of his home.
Well people were storing all sorts of garbage on his servers and his IP came up as a source.
After headlines in the paper of accusations he was found not guilty because he knew nothing about what was being stored on the network.
He would charge a premium for space and essentially rent it out to others on his network. Sounds like a great idea and easy income until the sickos of the internet start to exploit it.
Ended up being a bunch of people from Germany that where responsible. But his name was destroyed along with his business

Searching for his footlong, which turned out to be only 11 inches.

Death of a Spokesperson regardless of the outcome.

On July 7, 2015, FBI and Indiana State Police investigators searched Fogle's Zionsville, Indiana home in connection with a child pornography investigation.[14] Earlier that year, Russell Taylor, the director of the Jared Foundation, a nonprofit focused on childhood obesity awareness, was arrested on child exploitation, possession of child pornography, and voyeurism charges ((From Wikipedia )
Lets just see where this goes.

Here are some more details to the story. My bet is this dude spilled the beans and we'll find out if he did so rightfully or wrongfully.

Subway spokesperson Jared Fogle's home was raided Tuesday morning by FBI agents conducting a child pornography investigation.
Jared was seen walking into his home outside Indianapolis with one of the agents ... and investigators have a truck parked in his driveway. We've learned Indiana State Police are also on the scene.
Russel Taylor, the former director of Fogle's charity foundation -- which is unaffiliated with Subway -- was arrested in April for possessing and producing child porn. Investigators reportedly found more than 500 videos in his home.
Fogle said his foundation was severing all ties with Taylor immediately after his arrest. It's unclear if this morning's raid is connected to the charges against Taylor.

There has to be considerable evidence set before a judge before a warrant will be served, no? I don't think hearsay is enough for a warrant to be issued. JMO

Everyone here is right in that we need to let due process take it's course. But let's assume for a minute that he's an innocent person when all this is said and done. His name is already mud and so is his reputation. Just a sad deal unfortunately.

I was scrambling to come up with a "footlong" joke. Lol well-crafted!

I dont think they come out and grab your computer without some pretty solid knowledge of wrongdoing. Itw not the first step in that process.

Here's an update with a few more details:

7:30 AM PT -- We've obtained the criminal complaint against Taylor ... and it says police recovered a 4 GB thumb drive and his employer, the Jared Foundation, was listed in a file name. Inside that file was a folder labeled, "Good stuff." Cops found a bunch of child pornography in that folder.

Since Taylor mixed work files with child porn ... it could explain why the FBI is searching Fogle's home. Jared himself, is not mentioned in the docs police found at Taylor's home office.

What baffles me about this subject in the modern age is that we know for a fact that the U.S. government DOES intercept every single bit of illegal content transmitted electronically within the United States.
Shouldn't the feds be announcing the rescue of hundreds of children and the accidental suffocation of hundreds of offenders during their arrests on a fairly regular basis???

When it comes to cyber crime- be it identity theft, sex offenses, stalking, scamming, add-on I can't help seeing government and industry in complicity with felons. In financial crimes this is flat out obvious. The American poor are doing business not in dollars but in electronic corporate scrip cards that are DESIGNED to be stolen. If you steal cash and buy crack they get nothing- if you steal a gift card account and trade an Xbox for crack, the retailer and the government are guaranteed a cut of the loot. This is a less murky example of how and why they refuse to use their massive law enforcement surveillance powers to make cyber crimes traceable and preventable.

I think the information is worth more than the lives affected to Google and the government when it comes to child porn in particular. I think they are allowing this material to be out there and available. It allows them to study the problem, it allows them to farm an endless supply of offenders that we the people will pay to be protected from, and of course it's the most serious crime that can be committed with out any actual physical evidence being created, meaning they can use the charge on anyone for any reason and it's the government vs a stranger in a credibility contest, with children's safety in the balance, so only an anarchist would be completely unswayed by the tactic.

If I had my way, we'd immediately charge every internet service provider with aiding and abetting and make them prove they didn't know they'd handled illegal content or have information about anyone who did. Of course all of a sudden the cut and dry standards that they will apply to Jared would go right out the widow and there would be multiple conflicting expert explanations of just how sure we can be that an ip designates a computer which is controlled by a specific person, in exactly the same way that the convenience and security they claim for their illegal fake bank cards becomes more impenetrable to a company than to a tweaker once your money has been stolen and spent

Sounds like a setup but it won't be long before it's legal. The liberals are winning or we're losing depending on how you look at it.
