We all have a bit of that. We hang out with the people who run in the circles we run in. Sometimes you can make willing choices to not associate with a group of folks, but a big part of socioeconomic bias is just kind of organic to the tendency of folks to hang around with those who run in the same circles as them.

Spread the wealth.....when they talk about fair and competitive markets, what they really mean is producing more goods that are then exported, in order to raise an illusionary value of money that is then distributed among the lower spectrum of we the people. Yes, I do know what socialism is.

At the risk of sounding patronizing, I would say that you should look into the motivations of and the mechanisms advocated for by the various schools of socialist thought. At its heart, you are correct, it is ostensibly about the forceful taking and redistribution of all resources and the ultimate elimination of all class differentiation (depending on the flavor of socialism, some socialists/syndicalists/fascists do propose "class collaboration").

As an "economic theory" (a stretch to call it that), it is about the confiscation of all means of production which are not controlled by a central authority and the banning of all private means of production and ultimately, property (again, there are many variations and some do allow private property).

Many who think as you do confuse the private voluntary act of charity with the public compulsory act of confiscation and redistribution. As an engine of personal betterment, it could not be more flawed in its fallacious logic. As a political trope, its only saving grace is its commonly perceived promotion of economic equality. However, in practice, it can only bring down the overall productivity and well being of its victims and proponents alike.
