I wonder if he'll give that thing on his head its own bedroom in the whitehouse? But on a serious note he doesn't stand a chance in the 2016 elections or any presidential elections. Surely he realizes this? Is he trying to get back into the media spotlight? Me thinks this is the case:

This time, Donald J. Trump says, he really means it.

The billionaire real-estate mogul, who has long amounted to a one-man sideshow in GOP presidential politics, said in an interview Wednesday that he is “more serious” than ever about pursuing a run for the White House in 2016.

In recent days, Trump said, he has hired staffers in key primary states, retained an election attorney and delayed signing on for another season as host of NBC’s “The Celebrity Apprentice” because of his political projects.

“Everybody feels I’m doing this just to have fun or because it’s good for the brand,” Trump said in an interview with The Washington Post. “Well, it’s not fun. I’m not doing this for enjoyment. I’m doing this because the country is in serious trouble.”

The country is in serious trouble folks. Gas at record lows, economy doing well, unemployment certainly at its lowest in years but hey hey! This is from the liberal media! That darn liberal media!

.....Mind you he's not a complete nutter... some of his positions are very sane:

I am 100% pro this as a means of an ice breaker into the two party system we have here. It needs to be broken.

Plus...

If he's still talking with Howard Stern running as his VP, I'm down!!!!

Ummm he falls well within the right we have established right now, he would not be fresh new face from a new party.

Oh and OP get ready for some heat for trying to say this country isn't in as bad as shape as some would like us to believe.

Trump hasn't declared a party affiliation, has he?

Truthfully, if he does, I'm not interested. I see this as being something necessary to break the two party stranglehold.

I've been on ATS for a while now Sremmos but I appreciate the heads up
And I fully agree.... Trump is as establishment as many of the other potential runners up in the next elections. He is by no means an outsider. I do wonder how many votes Trump will manage to get or what percentage of the GOP vote? I'm thinking he has a good chance at say... 5% in the primaries? I don't think he'll win a State in the GOP primaries but he'll get a couple thousand votes I'm sure. It may boost his ego alittle more.

I hear you, I would just hope he sees the smoke and mirrors that the established parties shoot for and look to run independent or something similar....

To be honest, I'm far more interested in the groundbreaking assault on the two party system than what he could or couldn't do...if you catch my meaning...

Are you aware of who this man is??
What makes you think this is the guy America needs to break the mold?

I do not think the GOP would have him. Lets face it he is a walking talking joke to most of America. Granted the late night comedy shows would love this.

What a putz. Only thing i agree on is get rid of free trade and no soft money to politicians. Iraq pay for liberation? WOW they did not want us there. They are not better off. No corporate tax. ( wonder why he wants to run ) Tax breaks for the rich. Wow he really wants to Ronald Reagan it and f up the economy. Poor get poorer and rich get richer. But fair trade and import tax may balance the numbers some. But money is still being taxed more to those that don't have much the majority. Help the majority and help the economy. Help the rich / Few people with no spending habit change, changes nothing. Want change JESSE VENTURA. 2016

I try not to have judgement but in this case I'll make an exception.

Trump is possibly the biggest failure in American corporate history.

How many times has he gone bankrupt? Four?

And most of the time it was casino/gambling related - the only business in which people give you money for nothing in exchange!

So not only is he a complete disaster financially and economically, he seems to be ruled by his ego instead of reason too often for someone of his age and supposed wisdom. He makes pronouncements and decisions with a gravitas of someone who has earned it, instead of the complete failure that he is. I guess I have to give him marks for confidence, but I have to take away marks for delusion.

I hope he teams up with McCain. That ticket would save some of us a lot of time in making up our minds. Oh, wait! That is a nobrainer!

Trump hinting at running for office is not shocking.

What is shocking is that people actually believe him:

He has done this for at least the last 3-4 election cycles? Keep an eye out for a new project or book that he is involved in that will be coming out 2016.

What is more shocking is that people think he would be a good candidate:
His first priority would be to put a HUGE Gold TRUMP sign on top of the White house. The guy suffers from I'm god syndrome and will probably elect his hair as his VP candidate.

You want a guy to back for 2016, this is your guy make sure to sign the petition:
actionnetwork.org...

He is the only one that is actually talking about the real issue: Congress being dependent on the lobbyist money

There is a corruption at the heart of American politics, caused by the dependence of Congressional candidates on funding from the tiniest percentage of citizens.

As it is far too early to deal with insults, I am going to assume you are genuinely asking IF I do actually know who Trump is.

Whereas Trump is a capitolist, something tells me that while he is from the same stock that Republicans come from that he is far more of an independent thinker. I'm hoping that he sees things clear enough to know that just because the GOP sees money as being lifeblood doesn't mean it is the way for him to go to get what he wants to do in the United States government.

Don't get me wrong, I am not naive. I am thoroughly prepared to see that hope utterly and completely shattered.

And as for breaking up the log jam, he may not be the one. But, I'm thinking that *maybe* it'll ONLY take one to do it...

But then again...hopes and shattering.....

Oh, I hope to see Trump, Bachman, Palin, Perry, Santorum, Bush, and maybe even Colter and Hannity in the race.

The more the merrier!

There's two things I know for sure about dear old Donald.

First; He's a blowhard egotist who can't seem to satisfy the urge to publicly pat himself on the back. (Which is somewhat understandable when you consider how much of his time is consumed with bankruptcy filings, "rug" cleaning & styling, trying to come up with new ways to display his name on newly acquired businesses, etc..)

Second; Donald Trump doesn't do anything if there's no money to be made doing it. Especially something like suspending his little "cash cow" The Apprentice, to make less doing something else.

I'd just bet that he's found a way to make big bucks off this charade. Like maybe keeping leftover PAC money or something like that. His exploratory committee is probably there just find out if he can make more money on t.v., or running for POTUS.

Remember the Colbert super PAC?
