June 11th, 2015. this is my estimate. seems appropriate, between the two solstices.
I'll take the 21st June 2015 then, I shall probably be at Stonehenge for the crazy festival it is (one of only two times of the year you can actually touch the stones, also it's free) ...and as 'the stones' are rocks it seems appropriate.

You should do avebury mate, you can sit on the rocks almost anytime you like and less tourists.

Not just solstice either. Just be wary of druids bearing gifts.

I like Avebury but Stonehenge is my favourite...and closer to home, slightly less majestic, but no less magical to me is Fernworthy Circle in Dartmoor, I love camping there, even got engaged to a girl in the circle many years ago, but that's another story lol.
On topic(ish) I'd love to see a stone circle on Mars, now that would be interesting...

Maybe it's a hometown thing then. to me Avebury is a place you can just go at 3 in the morning and chill in the stones whereas Stonehenge is that place all the wannabe's and cool kids go because they heard it was the place to be and spoil it for the locals with all the fences and suchlike.

Choose your date for the stone circle on mars(or dark side of the moon if you wish to go each way)

Not january next year I'm busy getting married it would complicate matters.

I agree and understand, but as I don't go Wiltshire way too often I'm totally blind to the fences/visitor centre, A303, and/or annoying people when I get there, just bewitched by the stones.
