I really have to read "the little prince" to understand it for myself because the explanations I'm getting are are very different...

I read the book for the first time when I was 25, I've bought it countless times and given it away and asked the same question.

There are no explanations

You read and understand what you understand for yourself, then you pick it up again and think "Well bugger me I missed that"
I read it again last month. It may seem sad, I've been reading it for 22 years and I still find things I missed. Or more to the point it makes me question myself.

Well I just ordered the book online because I needed a Christmas present for myself anyway. (can I also read to my kids? It seems like a really nice book to read to my children or is it too complex?)

I will give you a proper answer after I have read it but I thank you for the suggestion!!!

I left my kids years ago to my eternal regret,

This year we met again, when I was there for them, I always gave them the choice, which book would you like daddy to read to you ? The answer was always The little prince "It's silly daddy".

When they unpacked they both had the copies I'd bought them

"Not so silly dad", my son said

"Thanks"

Yeah you can read it to your kids.......................Time and time again
