Here is a nice article out of Colorado. I can't believe I'm reading this. Is this North Korea?

Apparently a comedian has been arrested and charged with a felony for pointing a banana at a cop.
At what point do we call these guys out?
Unfrikinbelievable

No offense, but what this guy did and how (I read) he did it was absolutely retarded. Seriously.

And he wasn't even filming.....so there goes his "It's for youtube" defense.

lol what an idiot.

Police and bananas have along history of animosity.

Now figure it out how to remove the song from your head.

So what, what happens when you pull the banana from a lunch bag or lunch box.

Do you get shot and the cop says, "It could have been a gun:

A gun is a gun and a banana is a banana.

Sorry but .........

Only in America

I can picture this guys wanted poster holding a banana.
On the serious side, it was a stupid prank considering all the police shootings we've had. Today, police are too quick to reach for their gun, and in this case this guy risked his life for a laugh. I guess the moral of the story should be...don't mess with police.

Yes, all bananas are loaded with goodness and vitamins and all things fluffy.

For the rest of the world, "A banana a day is a healthy choice"

For America, "Bananas have a lethality index of 98/100. They are extremely hazardous because a cop can't tell a bright yellow bent fruit from a gun."

I can't even get my Aussie sense of humor to engage, this is just so stupid.

Probably a good call by the cop to arrest the guy.

That banana could have been used in a drive-by fruiting!

right after pointing it he should have made like a banana, and split.

The judge should dismiss this with prejudice and censure the prosecutor. That would end the deputy's using his fun new mopery charge.

It would probably end in a peel court.

I agree its a completely stupid move to pull anything on a cop.

Having said that, I also believe a cop also needs to distinguish the diff between a bright yellow banana and a firearm. If you can't do that, you shouldn't be armed in public around citizens. Some people act like clowns, not conformists and If I capped a guy with a banana, and said I feared for my life, they would never buy it.

If they walk around with a fear of public constantly, innocent people will get shot.

What pisses me off, is the fact that they have now attempted to take this citizens rights away with a felony charge over a banana.

This charge is going to get reduced in court to a misdemeanor and the comedian will have a new stand up story to tell by embellishing the details a bit. That is unless he has a prior record, which I doubt.

Bunch says he immediately ducked into his patrol car and drove away, afraid that Channing had a weapon. He then called another deputy in the area and warned him of the situation.

Overlooking the obvious joke about this dude being named 'Bunch',
I'd like to point out that the officer did NOT pull a gun keep pulling the trigger long after this comedian stopped twitching.

I would not have been the least bit surprised if this event had gone poorly, on video, with him screaming "it's a banana!" followed by lots of gunfire.
Glad it didn't go that way- this officer gets a GOLD STAR.
