I did, it has never been deleted so yes I believe there is nothing wrong with doing so.

Probably pertains to the topic, if it is on something that is already a no no, then they will probably delete it.

I believe ArtemisE meant the kind of poll which SO is doing right now, with multiple choices which one can click.

You won't be able to create a poll such as the one the owners are using.

That's a site owner/admin sort of thing.

ATS shies away from allowing members to do polls within threads, as usually it results in the collection of information about our members. Which being a conspiracy site, we take our members privacy very seriously.

Aah, okay, I don't think I have seen that thread yet. I'll have to check it out.


They say they don't want anyone collecting information. If we wanted to, it would be very easy to do so on our own by looking at their polls and through the threads, so I don't actually see the problem.

I agree with you ArtemisE, seems rather restrictive. I noticed a lot of that on here lately.

It's not about restrictions. The T&C has always been very clear on this:

ii) You will not Post, use the chat feature, use videos, or use the private message system to collect or ask for the personal information (data mining) about forum members, including email addresses and "real life" names, in any manner whatsoever, or for any reason whatsoever.

Obviously some polls like what do you think of Putin, don't fall under the guise of data mining. Which is why the owners of ATS are the ones who make these polls.

I doubt that the polling options will become available to members at large anytime soon. I could be wrong though.
