Survival of the fittest!

The lions do not help the lame calf who cannot walk yet! They eat him...
We are no different only a bit more highly evolved. That is a very poor socialist attitude that states we have to take care of everyone. It is also not feasible bad, bad very bad idea...

You would be correct if you think that all we are is animals without a soul or spirit.
Many world religions and beliefs state that "man" is driven by their animal nature consisting of desires, greed etc, and to escape from that, spiritual enlightenment is required.

Homeless but not a bum!!

I'm in the same boat as you, since last November I've been homeless, but maintain a job.
I just cant afford my own place , and its due to child support taking so much, but I do have a truck and some friends that help me out (their internet right now)
During the winter was ruff in my truck with blankets and warm clothing , when I ran out of gas trying to stay warm, I thought "how do others live through this cold with less"

I also remember having an apartment and for 6months I didn't have a refrigerator, you really don't know what you have till you don't have.

and Im going to leave with a quote that I love "unknown author"

"There once was a man complaining because he had no shoes, then he met a man who had no feet"

Maybe you should read instead of posting! I said I maintain a job, and I worked all weekend, do you know what today is by the way?

We should help people who can not help themselves when it comes to basic things people need to survive. Air,Food,Water,Shelter if you do not have these things you can not survive.

What kind of person would want people to go without these basic things? The older I get the more I understand what empathy really is. When I was young I judged people by material wealth and power now I judge them on kindness, empathy, honesty. These traits are what make people good vs. bad.

So anyone who is poor remember if you have kindness and empathy in your heart you are wealthier then the man with a ton of money but has no empathy or kindness. This is the cold hard truth.

To your own heart be true. Do not listen to what these cold uncaring posters have to say. Everyone has ups and downs and these are what define us. Some people learn empathy and kindness while others learn cruelty and hatred.

Just like my post above stated if you are kind and have empathy you are better off then they are. It may not seem like it but it is a fact.

I wonder if some people didn't believe in their Christian God and we replaced that with resurrection and living the life of those you affected if they would be so gung ho about it. Would you still say it's ok to bomb innocents if you had to relive those lives, live on the street like this poor man, or live their lives? Or would you want to change it if that were the case. I'm guessing they would.

yeah you keep saying how charitable person you are, and keep repeating that you have volunteered at homeless shelters. Im guessing you dont anymore and the only reason you did was to make your resume look better. also now you get to tell people how nice of a person you are because you volunteered a couple times.

based on your posts on this thread and others, i can tell you have issues, and you carry hate in heart and spite runs through your veins. I HOPE you see the truth soon.

I applaud you as much as I can

You have a taste of life!

I'm sure you would understand the appeal of a hot bath/shower and a comfortable shelter for the night.

This concept is lost and deaf on most 'civilized' people, even on this forum, though many member will cite previous experiences, they don't live it daily.

Everything I'm about to say is completely sincere and in no way intended to be sarcastic or a personal attack. I swear to you I mean every word that follows and am not saying it to elicit guilt or to offend.

I desperately hope that those saying everyone who is homeless is a victim of their own bad decisions, never makes any decisions that lead to their own suffering.

I hope that those saying this man's "voice" proves he is an addict are never in a scenario where they are utterly reliant on the compassion of others and the necessity to not have their inflection or the sound of their voice determine their very survival.

I hope those who cry "survival of the fittest" and espouse social Darwinism are never preyed upon by those who share their beliefs.

I hope those who assume that the solution to all problems is simply to work harder and to "get a job" never find themselves desperately trying to apply for work, but having no phone, no address, and no job interview clothes, so as to be passed over for job after job.

I hope those who say the homeless are a blight and hurt their business are never trapped outside during the winter with no form of shelter.

And I hope these people never, ever find themselves pleading with other human beings for assistance, only to come face to face with people like themselves.

Peace.

Oh, check out Einstein over here, folks!

How could we have been so blind; just go get that application and fill it out accordingly. It's simple:

Line 1: Address

...Balls. Back to the drawing board.

I really do NOT care for reading between fellow ATS users squabbling about working. I do not care for your detailed personal work background and the rubbing in others faces grow up MONKEYS! and learn to run like hell run rabbit, ruunnnn rabbit run! If your working, maintain a decent livable wage CONGRADULATIONS your compliance is basically complete they have you right where your suppose to be. Waste you beautiful life away working (completing meaningless and most often demeaning tasks that give an individual no benefit besides the fact of earning a under waged salary.) CONGRADULATIONS to everyone with a well established occupation or "Job" you are right where you belong on that long line or worthless #, right next to your fellow brothers and sisters here on Earth. You know why because the company you work for does not give a # about you, your family or your friends.

This gentleman depicted in the OP's video seems to be a man of genuine nature. (He has nothing to fake or act about, that much is blatantly obvious) he's living his life in a way that will give him USEABLE self growth and actually beneficial to his growth and enlightenment to become a more highly evolved and conscience being.

I laugh to myself deeply when I see the shallow empty souls of people here on Earth that are constantly putting up a front. Constantly acting like they are happy, constantly TRYING to convince the surrounding world around them that they are in fact just fine. You want to know who these people are? ? ? They are you and I, the man coming home from work at the office, the woman closing shop for the day at the local florist, the on-edge asshole cop with a generous yearly salary, the butcher, the baker and the candlestick maker!! Do you get it yet?

It is when you deem yourself a higher quality cut of fabric than any other. It is when you look at another man or woman with discust and anger that you understand you have lost all that you were born with and have become conditioned to your terms of parole here on this prison planet.

The man holding the cup completely ashamed and intimidated by assholes like I read about in this thread, the man holding the cup has more freedom and self awareness and a better look on the entire scope of things than any working man today. Live closer to the heart or live a working man with no time to live. The choice is yours it should be painfully obviously which brings true happiness.

This video is over a year old, and like much of this thread, the comments section attached to it is filled with tripe and the passing of judgment.

Does anyone have an update on what happened to this man? Has he gone all this time without receiving help of any kind yet?

Curious.

Yeah, being poor is SO freeing. So much more freeing than being able to sleep in a comfortable bed with plenty of food to eat.
