An EO is about the only way Obama could get something like his draconian gun bans passed. And (if I'm not mistaken) an EO only lasts as long as his presidency. So in 4 years, not only will Obama be gone, but much of congress that goes along with this as well.

If Americans sit on the sidelines and let him pass an Executive Order to get rid of the 2nd Amendment then you won't have a new congress, you won't have a new anything. You will have an Emperor Obama.

How about a a protest in the form of ALL gun owning Americans buying a copy of Total Resistance by Hans von Dach. I think that might send a stronger message then even donations to the NRA... iT was written by a swiss general on basically how to resist if Switzerland became occupied by communist. Excellent book and recommended by many in military. If that became national best seller might send the message, it's all over the net as a PDF as well. Just sayin.

I'm not sure (in normal residential life) what you need a gun for? and I certainly can't see in light of recent massacres why a gun owner would be proud to own one?

A woman hiding in her attic with children shot an intruder multiple times before fleeing to safety Friday.

The incident happened at a home on Henderson Ridge Lane in Loganville around 1 p.m. The woman was working in an upstairs office when she spotted a strange man outside a window, according to Walton County Sheriff Joe Chapman. He said she took her 9-year-old twins to a crawlspace before the man broke in using a crowbar.

But the man eventually found the family.

"The perpetrator opens that door. Of course, at that time he's staring at her, her two children and a .38 revolver," Chapman told Channel 2’s Kerry Kavanaugh.

The woman then shot him five times, but he survived, Chapman said. He said the woman ran out of bullets but threatened to shoot the intruder if he moved.

The woman ran to a neighbor's home with her children. The intruder attempted to flee in his car but crashed into a wooded area and collapsed in a nearby driveway, Chapman said.

America was technically a peaceful declaration of independence until the British invaded, although the boston tea party would be called a terrorist act by todays standards it didn't kill anyone. Then it got violent, so to take a lesson from history, wait till the goons bust your door down before you start firing, and don't be like that moron who pledges to "start shooting" if an executive order is passed.

Not here I am a descendent of quite a few individuals who very efficiently used violence during that conflict to kill brittish troops. A couple who did particularly well with Marion in the Carolinas.... But really all countries are founded ultimately by violence..... and ultimately by a violent minority that does the actual fighting. WILL, usually matters more then numbers. Most people just shutter their windows, and hide under a rock. We may reach a point someday in this country where Americans do the same, meekly handing over their freedom, but I don't think that time has come just yet. The only way to do it ATM would result in an absolute blood bath...

That's an interesting take. It started out as a peaceful plea for compensation and representation in the light of certain injustices perhaps decade before Declaration....there was no cry for actualy independence or not much of one....they saw them selves as British subjects and only wanted to be treated more fairly.......by the time the Declaration of Independence was signed we were a good six years into the bloodshed, that started with Boston Massacre.... when they did so every signer knew there was no peaceful out. To sign it meant treason, and the ONLY way such a thing had ever been responded to was with force....there was nothing peaceful about it, it wasa gauntlet thrown down. Every member who signed knew full well it meant war....let's not revise events...

There is a difference between now and then. If violent revolution occurs, it will not be to overthrow a government. It will be to defend it from those who would usurp its authority.

I actually do not condone ANY overthrow of our government. I do, however, INSIST that they cease to attempt to usurp authority that is not theirs to take and that they immediately start taking measures to restore those authorities that have already been usurped...
