The Lack of fear. Sure we were afraid of nuclear war, but that was something we could do anything about anyway.
But we could tell our folks we were going out, and leave the house from 8am to 9pm with no cell phone and nobody had to worry about if we were OK or not.

There was no such thing as a Columbine shooting. It would never happen. We were amazed with a 16 pixel Atari graphics game.

Oh, and the music was cheesy but good.

Seemed like people had more fun day to day and were alot less cynical. I also miss the money making opportunities and the strong economy. Also, speaking as an American, I miss the world view of the US in comparison to today.

For me, high school and college came during that decade. It was a great time. Technology was advancing, good music, and we had a president (my governor in younger years) whom we could trust.

We believed our g==v wasn't lying to us. And we believed the 6 oclock news ha ha.

Ya leaving car and house doors unlocked was another. There was no need for that back then.

New wave music, definitely.

My musical taste is more or less punk rock (clash, ramones, etc) but the 80's had some great pop music. The likes of Kim Wilde, and The Primitives being two great examples.

Back when pop artists (if it's fair to call them that) could actually sing without autotuned computer tracks.

Today's music sucks balls.

Hell yeah!

I was lucky enough to see some top Aussie bands , doing the typical .. of the day, pub circuit tour.
The Angels, Radiators, Ice house,( flowers, as I first saw them ) and INXS and more.

Also awesome international bands
Dire Straits, KISS, ACDC, Elton John; to name what instantly comes to mind.

Ahh...memories. Thanks' for the reminder.
