A tax warrant is a legal action against you and creates a lien against your real and personal property. What happens: the warrant is a public record stating that you owe taxes to New York State and we have the right to collect your debt through a levy, income execution, and seizure and sale of property. The warrant is filed with your local county clerk's office and the NYS Department of State.

According to the NYS DOS, We Are Change has been in arrears for failure to pay $1500 in taxes since February. This is interesting as it gives some indicator of how much money Luke rakes in from his disciples. The NYS corporation tax rate at the lowest level is 6.1%. So, not a ton but a tidy living sum just to run around screaming at politicians with no real outcome.

That said, that could only be a guess and, perhaps, the tax warrant covers multiples years in which they failed to pay taxes. It's certainly nothing more than speculation.
