Guy 3rd from right has baton ready, probably has no kids.
And maybe it was his mom that took pics but ATSers will find out more info...
I think this is stronger that the Chinese guy standing against the tank, wonder what his mom thought, did they send her to the camp too?
Pic was cropped something tied to his right training wheel???

You think a picture of a kid looking at cops is more powerful than a man staring down a tank? The kid isnt doing anything brave hes looking at cops. You guys are reading way too much into this. My guess is Mommy spotted opportunity for picture, positioned the kid, snapped photo with kids back to camera to hide that he was crying then ran away.

I dont understand how people are actually siding on this picture?! The picture is powerful only in the subjective relation to the person viewing it. If you think "big whoop, a kid looking at police..." great, move along. Dont tear up other people's interest in the photo. Honestly, people seem to fight over everything.

Another thing, how the hell can you compare this photo to the tank man? That was a true massacre of activists, this was a protest in Russia. Two different things.

Exactly it has nothing to do with bravery the child's too young to even grasp the concept. This is just a case of a kid being curious as kids tend to be.

And all the rebels here and drooling over this because they think its sticking it to the man.

David, meet Goliath....

Freedom meets Tyranny.

As the source article states, this is a battle being fought on many fronts. This image, to me, captivates what we all feel is our personal struggles as individuals fighting against the machine.

I can only imagine what was going through that kid's head, and what effect it will have on his fate.

S&F OP.

What person puts their small child in this kind of danger? Parents like this are why things are so messed up. Someone put a child in great danger to further their own agenda. FAIL.

Thanks man, your kind words are appreciated.

I'm sure I'll manage to tick you off sometime, however. I seem to end up rubbing most people the wrong way eventually.

Awesome photo.

It would be cooler if he had a tiny Molotov cocktail in his back pocket though

Yea... a real "Tienanmen Square" moment here....

Now if he was to get off that bike and "pimp" walk up a little closer...

I would be impressed :-)

Why would you bring your kid to a protest? That's just asking for him to be trampled.

Agree

The guy staring down the tank at Tienanmen square was pure courage. The kid has no clue what a protest even means or what riot police even do.

That picture clearly shows curiousity and courage that most people lack.

He is not scared.
He should not be scared.

Neither should we.

Oh, how brave of him! lol

It doesn't show courage, it shows curiosity and innocence.

It amazes me how many people are reading too much into this picture. Cool photo sure, but nothing more than the innocent curiosity of a child.

I do agree that people are looking way too much into this picture.
On the other hand with all the problems, occupy movements and so on going on in the world, this is a cool picture trying to depict what we all hope to see but we know that this kid has no idea who he is staring at.

Wait, could this be Chuck Norris' kid? (He knows no fear)
