Ok, what if a worldwide Nuclear war happens. It would destroy everything. This is just a crazy theory, but if it destroyed everything we will have little record of history, you know? All the records of ancient history we have will be almost totally destroyed, and today modern machines, buildings, vehicles and other things will be nothing but "futuristic" looking rubble way above all the ancient rubble we now know.

Survivors: There will be VERY little to maybe absolutely no survivors if a war like this plays out.

So picture this image of our planet in your head: Countries are no more, there may be small groups of survivors in various parts all around the world in a desert of endless rubble. The groups of people have no way to reach other groups in places far away around the world, so they are left to stay in the quiet with each other in their own little spot for now. Believe me, this story does have an ultimate point.

Examine the famous quote by Albert Einstein: "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Now Imagine this world with only tiny groups of people, totally separated from other groups, totally separated from technology itself.. Totally seperated from their own history ..

In these exact circumstances we will have small groups forced into an isolated, ignorant, and tribal state of life. Tribal, because they will have no technology, no guns and no armor.. They will be forced to go the traditional rout and build their own weapons. They will be isolated because they will not have vehicles, they will not have communication... They will be disconnected from the other groups, or "tribes."

And they will be ignorant, because we will no longer have a past history. We will have the few mothers and fathers of the original tribe who may each know a little about their past, and their religion, which will be passed down and distorted by the many generations that will come of their tribes.. And with each of these generations the people will get more tribal, more isolated, and more disconnected from the world. It will not look like the end of the world, it will look EXACTLY like the beginning of our world as far as WE today know it began. So many generations when these tribes may learn to travel to more faraway lands, and meet other tribes, yes at first their war will be fought with sticks and stones. And time will progress, and these tribes will develop, and governments will take stand, wars will take place, technology will be invented, and eventually it would lead up to the same exact fate. Because without a proper education of the past, humans will never learn from the mistakes which brought them to the state they are in now.

While this theory is meant to predict what might come of a major catastrophe, it does not have to be nukes, it could be any damn thing that would kill us off almost completely, the theory is meant to open your eyes and make you realize: Okay, if this state is the most likely possible outcome of any major destruction of the human race and society, what came before us? We had begun just like these people after WWIII had begun, in tribes. With a more intelligent "leaders" or perhaps people who were alive before the major event who tried to educate their more ignorant children about religions, and God's...

What if society and the world as we know it, branched off just like this one had? "Ancient Aliens?" More like a good old fashion Ancient intelligent Human Race. Stop breathing the oxygen people..

After a nuclear exchange. Lets say a full scale (All nuclear armed countries have unloaded their weapons onto choice country targets.) The chance of any human survival would be very slim to null. With the radiation clouds encircling the globe, the Earth would become toxic too our bodies. The water we would drink would cause mutations, still births and other cancers and diseases. Even if we had a small group of survivors, their chance of continuing the species is very low due too their crippled sexual organs and over all health. As well, would you want to continue the species that just cleansed the Earth of all terrestrial life by their own selfishness and greed?

And as for people branching off, our history is chalked full of it. Its very interesting how adaptive us Humans are, giving us a true step up in survival situations. However, today's humans are lazy and scared of anything resembling danger, considering a "reset" scenario, most people would die within the first year. The survivors would then be able to pass on their "survivability" genes that set them apart from the weak heard.

Very true, but what if it wasn't a nuclear exchange, anything that killed off most humans. I'm trying to say if anything like that happens we will return to a tribal state maybe, and what if the reason we began as a tribal state was because of some original disaster?

Another question to ponder is at what point or when will technology be able to carry on without humans or few humans left alive. If you start to think about self replicating machinery, robotics, nanotechnology and alternative energy sources it wouldnt seem to require very many more leaps for at least some of our knowledge and constructs to continue with or without us.

If we all have portable hospitals on our person and fabrication machinery in our homes that are equipped with huge databases of human knowledge and an alternative energy source it does possible for some sort of advanced society to continue even after the collapse of large human populations and traditional infrastructure.

I dont believe we have reached this point yet but I do think it is possible to see these advances rapidly approaching us now.

Russia will survive with its massive civil defence and underground city network.

Is this a REAL topic tbh?

This like : " when it rains, the sky it's clouded".

OFC, a total nuclear war will destroy LIFE on this planet. There is no question about it.So, why do EXACTLY think your topic it's WORTHY?

If you just wanted to remind us that a nuclear war is bad, congratz, you did a good job.

How many submarines are there? how many are at sea at any given time? how many crew persons would that be?
I believe Australian and British submarines have females on board, so their races could survive?
Just a thought.

I truly believe important human history is already safe and tucked away under the Vatican. I don't think a nuclear war would destroy it all. Problem is we don't have the access too it.

An independent nation is willingly holding history and knowledge from he world. This is what people should be up in arms about. The fact nobody has access to it is enough reason for me to believe there is some good stuff hidden there. Would probably destroy the church, these days though, I'm not sure if that would be a bad thing if the truth came out.

Hell the stuff hidden away probably has the possibility for humanity to end all wars anyways.

The truth shall set you free.

Very nice post, the picture you drew was very vivid.

Reminds me of the thread posted the other week about the possibility that civilization has risen and collapsed a multitude of times during the past 300.000 years. Maybe we already were more technologically advanced say a 100.000 years ago.

I have no problem imagining how the knowledge would get lost after such an event, leaving only a small circle of people fully aware of what once was.

as powerful as they are We cannot destroy what we we have created. Sure major Cities can be destroyed and yes a lot of people would die but No not everybody would die. China has major underground complexes as does Russia. Funny as it is USA has almost none.

Think of the countries not targeted,
think about all the Rads released from Chernobyl, Japan recently and WWII,

No I am not minimizing nor am I arguing. Simply stating that life would change, but would go on, mere days after.

The Big Blue Marble is just too big a planet.

Humankind would survive a world-wide nuclear war. Not everybody lives in the cities. So if you live in a city, yep, you're toast.

There are large swaths of rural areas on earth that are sparsely populated and that is where you will find the survivors.

The thing to fear is the disease that always follows any war or natural disaster. That always kills off many of the survivors.

no nation in their right mind would use nukes again, not as a first strike any way, to end a war yes, or just the threat of the use of them, just as JFK did in '63. now if your talking a dirty, or a suite case one, then yes, for one could be used any day, at any time, with out knowing who made it, or where it came from. An all out nuke war?? no do not see it happening.

when all 30,000 + nukes of the earth are used in an all out exchange
these events will happen
99.999% of human life will be wiped out
only indigenous tribes of places like Peru would be untouched (they didn't anger anyone)
also the crew of certain submarines
(the ones that didn't launch and give away their position to the smart nukes flying overhead capable of changing direction to target them)

but what they have left will make them die out in less than 5 years
1/the food chain will collapse as radiation kills off most wildlife/some marine life

2/nuclear winter of biblical proportions
( a very savage one! the ice age will be like a warm summer! and our planet will resemble Jupiter's moon Enceladus)

this will leave the few remaining creatures of earth to start from scratch (literally)
it will put the evolution chain back to beginning
no mammals
no reptiles
no birds
no insects (will be too damn cold so don't say cockroaches will survive)
just a few heavily mutated sea creatures..

hopefully in 3 billion years when the next upright standing intelligent air breathers evolve
they don't do it again...
then again they may as well since by then the sun will go into its next stage and swallow earth when it burns helium and expands past earth's orbit

nukes don't kill people people kill people
lets try and not destroy our race ourselves
we got 4billion years to go it just seems a waste of good living time

Worldwide nuclear war would have no winner. It would have a whole lot of losers, though. Those losers? Every person unlucky enough to survive. Would the human race recover? Possibly. Hell, I would say probably. But the world would never be the same.
