Would they have the guts to directly quote him ?
as in " - - - - - -" Ron Paul said.
NO, because they perfectly know that they would
have their asses sued for blatant lies.
So the best they can do is throw mud at what someone else
wrote, then wrongfully blame Ron Paul.
This will back fire.
While Ron Paul has been planning solutions, being sensible,
the only strategy his opponents have come up with is to
point fingers and mud-sling, immature to say the least.

I should state that I think it might actually have been Rothbard who did most of the writing. These writings seem a lot like the racialist claptrap he spewed.

First time I ever heard of the guy, but there is that old saying you are the company you keep, and birds if a feather, but Obama and Rev, Wright were just as guilty.

I had to use an old web page grabber tool to find the article Kirchick wrote in response to people questioning him on who wrote those remarks in the Paul newsletter. (The article was taken down some time ago, so it is not viewable anymore without a old web page grabber tool) Im not sure if everyone can use the web page grabber tool, but here's the link

blogs.tnr.com..." target="_blank" class="postlink" rel="nofollow">web.archive.org...://blogs.tnr.com/tnr/blogs/the_plank/archive/2008/01/10/who-wrote-ron-paul-s-newsletters.aspx

In addition, I also took a screenshot of the article. Very short, and everything below the writing by Kirchick in the screenshot, is just comments.

I recall looking at this waaaaaay back when, and Ron Paul had literally NOTHING TO DO WITH the publishing of this newsletter. This was from a couple of "libertarian fan boys", if I can use that term, who once did some campaign work for Paul back in 1988 or served with Paul. It's a sad, unfortunate situation that the Libertarian Party attracts extremists like these racists. It's because of some of the Libertarian principles that make it an ideal platform for racist tools like Rockwell or Rothbard to vent their ideology. It's a poor reflection on the Libertarian Party, and even poorer reflection on Ron Paul. Rockwell is the one who should be called on the carpet otherwise he'll become Paul's "Saul Alinsky" or "Jeremiah Wright". All they need is a loose connection.

PS: anyone of us can go out and write a newsletter with our favorite politicians name on it, we might even sucker said politician into contributing a comment or two to it, but that doesn't mean they in any way they published it or even agree with it.

Pertaining to this CNN slander..

Gloria Borger(59) is married to Lance Morgan. Morgan is according to the
web site of his employer, Powell Tate,"chief communications strategist
at Powell Tate in Washington, D.C. He specializes in developing and
executing communications strategies for public policy debates, crisis
communications and media training."

So who might be the clients of Powell Tate, where Borger's husband is
"chief communications strategist and crisis communications" adviser for?

Just about every part of the military industrial-complex that Ron Paul
wants to shrink or shutdown. According to the Powell Tate web site, they
are strategic communications for among others:

The U.S. Army

The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services

The U.S Agency for International Development

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce

and, I'm not joking, The National Pork Board.

Bottom line Gloria Borger's husband is as inside Washington DC as you can get.

This was a total hit job, bringing up decades old accusations about a
newsletter that everyone agrees was written by others, while Dr. Paul
was practicing medicine. Further, as Justin Ramindo has clearly shown ,
most of the charges were made by people who couldn't have read the
newsletters in full context.

I also just had a nice chat with Adam Clark Estes who also wrote the same type of untruths in the Atlantic and he told me his employer "made" him write it, and he tells me he is a RP supporter and long time fan... I'm like wow, this is really too unbelievable..

Ron Paul (or his people, perhaps) were just using code to perpetuate the old racist canard that African Americans are lazy and shiftless. Paul has disavowed the ranting of the newsletter published under his name (just as he did when the subject came up in 2008) and his spokesman says that Paul didn't write it and "disagrees with it totally." That's comforting. Sort of. It helps distance Paul from these lunatic scribblings, but it fails to answer the question of why he allowed them to be published in the first place.[color=gold] He and his admirers complain bitterly when he's ignored, then protest when he's scrutinized. Paul should answer for these writings.

www.latimes.com...

Did Ron Paul really believe people wouldn’t ask questions concerning his Newsletters while running for President?
The fact is Ron Paul allowed these racist and anti-Semite comments to be published under his name.

This is a serious issue, yes we have the freedom to hate and to express our hatred as it was demonstrated in Ron Pauls’ newsletters. This alone represents Ron Pauls’ character and his behavior as in walking away from CNN interview instead of discussing this important matter to the public. This just shows that Ron Paul does not think he should be held accountable for his Newsletters. We heard all the excuses.

Many of you are telling me that it is better to have a President that may hate gays, Jews and blacks to run our country because he tells you all what many of you want to hear. I agree Ron Paul sounds like the best candid at this time because he speaks out against what the democrats and Obama has done in the past four years, however I really believe if a man who may have such hatred against certain groups of people in our country and having the power that be might decide to wield his power against these people’s rights and that’s all we need, more draconian laws to continue to chip away at our freedoms.

We heard all the lies from Obama, change that we can count on. I am not a Republican I thought was a democrat; however I am none, because both parties have proven themselves to be serving the interests of Wall-Street and the world’s corporations.

Do many of you really believe that Ron Paul has a chance at becoming President when there is plenty of evidence proving that Wall-Street runs our government and our elections?

The fact is the peoples votes do not count; it is the “counters” whose counts the votes that count. When are many of you going to realize that it is the world’s corporation who dictates our overseas policies, it is their corporate money that wins their elections, and they put in who they want in.
Ron Paul is playing against the political system that has been set up by the war mongers in Washington.

Obama lied through his teeth to fool the American people; however he didn’t lie to Wall-Street he pass legislation the way Wall Street wanted it and carried out Bush and Cheney’s overseas unconstitutional policies. I do not support any of them, or any candid running for president, since they are all serving the same interests, "Wall Street."

He's disavowed them multiple times previously and has repudiated them directly with his entire record and policies otherwise. As far as finding out for sure who wrote those specific newsletters, it's apparently difficult to know for sure with the way the newsletters themselves were run. There are two main suspects (lots of research and information on this in my first post on this thread).

But, there are also some arguments that Paul digging into it to expose whoever was directly responsible would open a can of worms and cause a slew of further issues discussed in what I posted previously, up to and including possible contract/non-disclosure agreements, ruining careers, and other things all for something almost 20 years old that is disproven by the message and life of Paul himself anyway, and not much of a serious issue in the first place when they are reviewed in context and in light of various conservative opinion and discussion at the time.

It's a mess, granted. A very stupid and annoying one that never should have happened. But, here we are.

I'd agree with your last paragraph. I don't agree with some of Paul's positions, but it's likely he is not a racist. Now Rothbard and Rockwell most assurdly are (or was in one case.).

This is where I always get in trouble. I'm no optimist, I'm a realist. The problem is people here are not willing to deal with reality. They believe in something and the emotional need to believe always trumps the truth. It trumps it everytime. I don't know what they will do with themselves when RP loses. I'm not investing one ounce of energy in him this time. I did in 2008 and look where it got us.

Bottom line, you better start thinking of some way to save yourself because Ron Paul isn't going to save you.

Who said that? Have you not read through your own thread? Show me a quote.

I seriously doubt that Paul hates homosexuals, people of the Jewish faith, or African Americans. This thread is chock-full of evidence to the contrary. Try reading it.

You, sir, have made your agenda obvious with that statement. As I said earlier, desperation.

This was the article that started it all;

Angry White Man

It's also the reason Paul needs to make an internal investigation and publish his findings, otherwise it'll never go away. He should have disbanded those organizations when he left politics, instead he allowed two racist twerps continue writing and publishing and using his name for the publicity.

Oh, you mean the one who had a gay campaign manager during the last election cycle (Kent Snyder), who has a jew on his campaign team this time (Bruce Fein), and was actively defended against charges of racism by the (black) Houston head of the NAACP Nelson Linder?

Crikey. Outside the newsletters, in his 30-year history of public office, speaking on the record, being reported on, through his associates - can you point to any single thing that suggests Paul is racist?

I can direct you to a list of racist statements from various famous democrats that are on the record and not disputed to have not come from those they're attributed to. Does that do anything useful for anyone, though?

We've got 30 yrs worth the videos on Ron Paul, can someone show me some racist comments coming straight from him? I mean we can get videos of all these other candidates flip flopping within one week of each other but you can't bring 1 video to the table?

Ron Paul is racist! Look at the stuff he wrote back in the day that proves without a shadow of a doubt that he hates black people and jews and gays! And you want THIS GUY to be President?? Holy Moly! I mean, I DID support him at one time but then I FOUND OUT HE'S RACIST! He even walked off a CNN interview when they questioned him about it! WHAT A DIRTY RACISSSSSSSST!

Later, in this very same thread...

Did Ron Paul not really think anyone would ask him about these DIRTY HATEFUL NEWSLETTERS? He let it happen! Because he's Racist! Anyway, it doesn't even matter who you vote for! Ron Paul won't win because wall street won't allow it and you know it! Boo Obama! BOTH PARTIES ARE CORRUPT! Nanny nanny poo poo!!!

Suddenly grotesque wings sprout from the flesh of the propaganda-born shill-beast. It lets out a final bellow before it soars into the sky and dissapears over the trees..

ATS needs to get with the program here!

This video has clearly been edited, you can't hear the question she asked to make him take off his mic.

It could have been anything, and it was obviously offensive.

I agree, I supported him in the 2008 election and watch in horror as Wall–Street stole the elections and put in someone who most of us didn’t know.

What I am witnessing here is a larg number of Ron Paul supporters who are oblivious to the facts and have dreamed up every excuses to why they think he is not racists. The hard fact is this Ron Paul is now a public figure and I don’t care how many times MSN or any other News outlet wants to address these prejudice letters, Ron Paul owes the voters that are supporting him an explanation especially if he wants to win new voters on his side. However Dr. Paul takes off his mic and says goodbye in the middle of an interview from CNN only makes him look guilty.

People NEVER cease to amaze me.

#1. It is not his newsletter.

#2. PLEASE, go back and look back at the post in the different Politics forums and see how this was addressed back in 2008

For everyone else... please take note. This is why TPTB use smear campaigns... because they work. This is how easily voters in the US are swayed.

The best part is, it happens over and over again and they NEVER learn. They fall for it EVERY time. Then they sit back and complain about how screwed up things are.

Wanna why things are so screwed up? Because the sheep fall for the same BS line over and over and over again and fail to learn from it.

Ron Paul is THE ONLY Politician who points out that 14% of blacks are responsible for crimes, yet 60% of the prison population is black. He is the ONLY Politician who points out that the number is clearly lopsided and how it reflects on racist attitudes within the Justice system and Drug Laws. OBVIOUSLY.. only a racist would point out such a thing

This is all opinionated at best and supports hearsay nothing but many excuses.
Waking away in the middle of an important interview shows that Dr. Paul may have something to hide.
I don’t care how many times Paul is asked the same question, he owes his constituents an explanation.
