It really mostly is.
The thing is they aren't reporting on it.
They want this thing sqaushed. It is a potential uprising. They want you to see marxists, and nazi's, and idiot hippies. When something like this is a threat it is their job to squash it. You can't trust the news on this one. You have to get out and talk to a wide variety of people out at the protests. Don't stand next to the hippies and socialists. Find the people that know what they are talking about and protest with them. They will be a lot easier to find than you think. They will be the majority. Grab a sign and stand with them. That way the right message is spread.

Tthe NY protests are the most liberal of the movement and even though they are the largest single protest the majority of the protestors in other cities (that don't have the propaganda flowing like in NY) have a concise message and it is very similar to the one I posted. All of the people trying to make this movement about something else (politics, socialism, etc) are trying to gain their foothold in NY, but they have lost control on the rest of the US and so the rest of the protests in the US have the right message (again the one I outlined above). That isn't my personal message either, that is the mission statement of the 5 protests going on in cities around me.

This is one of those things where you can't trust the media at all. You don't trust what the King has to say about the revolution. Know what I mean?

That clear concise message is being repeated. Just not by the MSM. They want the people to believe there is no message. We can never hope for them to repeat it or all the people like you would say the exact same thing you just said. They would all say: "that does make sense." See what I mean? If they said the protestors wanted exactly what I just said to you on the news it would be over. Everyone would be in the streets supporting them.

Imagine from day one of these protests a world in which the media wasn't owned by huge corporations that had an interest in killing this protest. I know it's hard (for all of us, crazy fantasy world I'm talking here), but just imagine that the news wasn't biased. Imagine they came out and said:

"Thousands of people in NY and in hundreds of cities across the US are protesting the conflict of interest between big business and the government. They want an end to lobbyists from big pharma, big agriculture, the military industry, big oil, and big banking lining the pockets of politicians and influencing legislation and regulation. They are also protesting dangerous loaning practices to home buyers and students in a recession. Which has left thousands of former homeowners foreclosed on and thousands of students, unable to find jobs in their education fields (due to economic depression and lack of jobs), fighting for minimum wage jobs to pay off massive, high interest, student loan debts."

If you heard that you would be making a sign and looking up the nearest protest before the broadcast was finished. So would thousands of other tea partiers and conservatives like you. That is why they can't and wont ever say it, but that is what is really, really happening.

When they say, "We want a global/socialist one-world economy along with a totalitarian regime and we want to rescue baby kittens."

Do you have any statements from any Occupier/Supporter to show we are saying these things? Or that we are employing "baby kitten defense"? lol

Actually there are threads on ATS where they have stated those exact things.
Ending capitalism.
A one-world rule.

The baby kittens part is all me.

Ummm.........Actually...
" Here's how our meetings go: First, we split the crowds up into sections where each section is allocated to a "crowd advocate" person. We group up into groups of about 20 people, discuss the day's proposals, and then vote either yes, no, or neutral on them. We tally those votes, and then pass on those numbers to the crowd advocate, whom passes it on the main speakers to announce the outcome.
In order for a proposal to become a proposal, you must have it typed out with a preface, a main goal, and the actual proposal clearly expressed. Then, you must have 3 people supporting your proposal in order for it to be actually voted on. After voting, 90% of the votes must be "yes" for it to be passed. If under 90%, you can have it rediscussed and revoted on at a later date.
An example of a proposal we passed a few days ago was "The Kittens Action".
Word for word, the proposal read:
Therefore, we propose that as a mass action, on Saturday, October 29th, we take the movement to the people and do the "kitten's action". We will converge at the Oscar Grant Plaza at 11 am, form teams or affinity groups of 3-10 people, do mini-trainings and share supplies, choose neighborhoods, and then fan out around the city, to engage the community in thinking and talking together about the realities we share and the future we want and the movement we're building. Then we will re converge at the plaza at 4pm to share our stories and insights, and hold a celebration rally. "

In this thread.......From the original post......

" It's 1am here tonight in the bay area and I just got back home from Occupy Oakland "

And I thank you for your reply.

Again, what you're showing me are cute baby kittens. Absolutely wonderful. I love baby kittens, I support baby kittens. I am all for baby kittens.

If it were just baby kittens (or ending corruption) then I'd be a proponent. I'm active in the Tea Party rallys. Our get-togethers.

Great.

But I have yet to be convinced that it all just "baby kittens".

I appreciate your insight, though.
cheers

Tell you what your suppose to be afraid of (capitalism)
Then
Tell you taxing the rich, shutting down wall street, and ending corporations is the answer to everything(socialism/communism)

You got me. OWS doesn't seem to be going this route, or I'd support them. Really, you have nothing to worry about. I'm very much a minority in many ways.

Not getting it gets you no where.

The goal is to end the conflict of interest between government and big business.
It is not to get rid of the 1%. It is to get rid of some of their power and their influence in our government.
To level the playing field. They can have their riches, they just shouldn't be able to use it with lobbyists to control us and our government.

Does that make sense to you?

So simply control of those that OWS deems as controlling others.

How very circular.

because the chamber of commerce is the source of the problem. Have you ever heard the phrase "follow the money," Beezzer? What, do you think it really says "Follow the money and stop when it reaches a politician of the party I really dislike and pretend it goes no further"?

Again, I've explained this to you multiple times. Go after the source of the corruption, not the symptom.
edit on 31/10/2011 by TheWalkingFox because: (no reason given)

Now that is funny and rich.
Follow the money in deed.
And yet, you stop at the Chamber of Commerce?
Yeah, ok.
The bread crumbs still lead to BIG Govt hiding in the Giant White Painted House on Pennsylvania Ave and the neighboring buildings on down the road.

But, as typical, pick the target that gets the most Media Coverage, Banks and Business.

Reminds me of the Character from "Nothing But Trouble".

His pappy was tricked by a banker, so by default, all bankers and anyone close to a banker were evil.

Sounds like they are working just like politicians and government then. They do the same thing. They are speaking their language and now trying to be heard.

We need change because this really is not working anymore. REAL change..... not Obama's definition.

Cute Kittens get my vote every time!

that sounds great; but what kind of change ? that is my issue with OWS is that they have the world watching and now that they have the microphone they have nothing real to say.

Ummmm....Beezer...that's not my thread.....the poster you were responding to asked where in the OWS movement they used kittens...I was responding to that..
I also was correcting you in that the baby kittens thang wasn't fiction on your part...but part of OWS...
