I know. Progressives like yourself would love to silence people like me. But I'm all for getting people off the dole, not perpetuating the nanny state.

No, i'm not for silencing you. Your voice needs to be heard so people can see the extremeness in your beliefs.

No, you are all for screwing those who are already in the dog house.

Just admit it.

Tell me how your ideology is going to help those who are struggling.

And btw, just because some one isn't as extreme as you doesn't make them a progressive. Most of the time, IT MAKES THEM NORMAL....something you are not.

You are nothing but an extremist.

First of all, you seem to believe that the "poor" are just a bunch of lazy colored folks that sit around and do drugs all day on the public dime. There are people receiving assistance that work their ASSES off just to make ends meet and provide for their families, and they have dullards screaming "oh cut them off!". You are beyond ignorant and more than likely, you've lived a sheltered existence.

You're so wrong, it's pathetic.

Perpetuating their conditions would be to cut them off of everything and have them thrown in the streets, where then in turn people will become desperate and crime and violence will increase. I don't know about you, but I'd like to live in a society where my car window isn't being smashed into or my house isn't being broken into.

The welfare state has been around for HOW many generations? Yeah, it's done alot of good.

You're all for corporate welfare, but when your countryman needs a hand you hold your nose up without even the slightest clue or regard for their position.

Um, please find that quote. As far as I've seen, Obama and the progressive ilk are doing more for corporate welfare than anyone else. (Can you say GE?)

If this country was run on the up and up, if there were liveable wages being paid, jobs to be had, and equal opportunities, there would be no need for entitlements. But guess what? It isn't. So take a step out of your dream world, realize that everyone isn't born with a silver spoon in their mouths, and stop favoring corporations over your fellow COUNTRYMEN.

Then tell your president to stop favouring GE and others and to get out of the way of businesses who want to grow and hire.

*meh, more shrill progressive whining.

I don't think any ideology should be silenced. Fascism included........

Mr Vadum just gave the progressives a HUGE boost.

Out of context quote thread of the day!

It's not the act of voting that in un-American. It is the massive get out the poor vote registration drives that is.

Poor folks will almost always vote for an increase in entitlement programs. it benefits them.

Using that logic, rich people will vote for tax cuts on themselves, because it benefits them. They must be unamerican, because their tax cuts don't benefit me.

By allowing them to live off the teat of government.

No. I'm just for giving everyone a chance. Not seting them up to live a sad life dependent on the government.

Any type of voter registration drives is un-American.

Voting should be an individual decision. If you need a hot-dog to get you to vote, you probably shouldn't.

Why not try debating instead of name calling. It works better that way. Unless you're SEIU. . . that is. . . .

COULD THAT MEAN THAT POSSIBLY YOU MAY BE THE EXTREMIST AND EVERYONE ELSE IS NOT?

I disagree..........

Encouraging anyone/everyone, regardless of income, to take and active interest in their political future is what democracy is all about. The epitome of patriotism.

It's the fascist that want to limit individual freedoms in favor of control of the citizens. It's evident on here who the extremists, control freaks and fascist are....huh?

Sorry, I have a problem restraining myself when debating with people that hold fictitious corporate entities in a higher regard than their fellow countrymen.

So, get back to the point. You're in here falsely calling Obama a "progressive" when his record says that he's a servant of the big business elites. It makes you sound foolish.

Even your god and savior Ron Paul has called Obama a "corporatist", not a leftist or some kind of progressive socialist. Actually pay attention to something aside from a Fox News talking point and maybe these debates will get somewhere.

Do you expect anything different from the extreme right?

The extreme right is engaged in an all out class war with the poor. They feel that the poor are a drain on society. (even the working class poor) and they would love nothing more than to put them into labor camps or sell them off into slavery to the richest 1%.

That is why they are working on eliminating the 14th Amendment, that way those that cannot afford to be legal Americans will have their rights stripped from them and then they will be sold into bondage to the elite.

Ben Franklin (paraphrasing) warned us that when we learned we could legislate money to ourselves we would and the Republic would be hard to hold. The poor vote for people who give them free money just like the rich vote for people who let them keep what they have earned and in some cases stolen. The law should include all citizens of all backgrounds but I would like these caveates.

If you are deemed healthy, and a working age person who lives off of the Government dole without returning something to society in some form of a recognizable job or work, you should not vote. We realize that you would be insane to vote against the free money. We would be asking an addicted person to leave their addiction at the door while putting them in front of it. To make it a level playing field there will be no political donations allowed to candidates. This will stop the lobbying money backed by the aristrocrat class from having easy access to power and to our elected ones they seem to own lock stock and barrel right now . A candidate will get a petition signed by neighbors to run for office. Then the media will provide free access with across the board policies on exposure of candidates. In turn, the media outlet's license to broadcast on anything but shortwave would be based on this. Also, any candidate or elected official (who are highly paid already IMHO), if caught taking money worth more than some set amount that is deemed reasonable like 100$, whether from some corporation or private individual before, during, or after public service will be prosecuted for high crimes and stripped of their fancy pensions. Once you accept the candidacy that leads to your election you withdraw your right to accept major gifts, period.

These things will stop the takover of the US by fascist/Totalitarian communisitic interests. Freedom from tyranny requires our due diligence in ridding these clowns of their hold on our soverienty.

Here's the thing that seems to be getting missed here, and by the neo-con shill in the article given in the OP:

EVERY AMERICAN CITIZEN HAS THE

RIGHT TO, AND SHOULD VOTE

REGARDLESS OF THEIR SOCIO-

ECONOMIC POSITION IN OUR SOCIETY!

VOTING IS ONE OF THE MOST AMERICAN

THINGS YOU CAN DO!!!

To suggest otherwise is the un-American stance. ALL voters should be encouraged to vote! That's the problem with our society, voter complacency and indifference!

This is so typical. As they, (GOP/TP) continually accuse the progressives of instigating "Class Warfare," the actual truth comes out. It is they, (GOP/TP) who are actually initiating the "Class Warfare" upon the poor and middle class and they've been doing so for quite some time.

Actually this man and the mentality he perpetuates, is quite disgraceful and nothing could be more anti-american. If we are to agree that our government is intended to be representative of it's people, then it only makes sense that if more of the population is made up of poor and middle income people then they should have more representatives speaking in their behalf within our government.

Oh, good grief. I really wish ya'll could get past the name calling. It's really below ya'll. I have seen just about all of you have perfectly rational and intelligent conversations without resorting to name calling.

I find it very obvious that there definately IS a corporatacracy in the USA. And the Media is trying hard to keep the mask of "Democracy" from being pulled off of that corporatacracy.

“Qu’ils mangent de la brioche” (Let them eat cake!)

There is a segment of the political populous that are so elitest as to forget their place in the world. It is very true that the poor will vote towards their own interests (although that does not necessarilly mean more entitlements) -- so will the middle class and the rich. The ultra rich don't need to vote, they just buy the politicians.

The American dream is dead. It was left on the side of the road as a wasted and burnt out hulk sacrificed to the Gods of "Earnings Reports" and "Net Profits". If we don't collectivelly pull our heads out of our waste disposal units, we will ALL be poor except for those that are already rich. We will ultimately have nothing more than an oligarchy and return to feudalism.

Disagreement and debate is healthy and overall very good. Name calling and other attacks are just a lazy way to avoid actually thinking about the questions.

Never let your buttons get pushed. It is a form of control. You dont need to let people have that kind of control over you.
