It certainly is. I should point out, when I throw out something like that (which I do quite often), I'm in no way endorsing the claim. I'm just presenting possibly relevant information.

And thank you
I worked hard on perfecting it...it's staying for a while.

I found an earthquake near the "plume" but I don't think its significant:

Well...good job! I searched and haven't seen anything other than fires and a tropical storm. I hope that's all it is.

According to the GOES satellite,
I don't see anything in California.

www.goes.noaa.gov...

And the NWS radar is doing the same crap again, flashing between the radar
image and a message that it is down.

There is no plume he's misleading you all

1.Go to www.wunderground.com... where he gets his original plume from and look where it is, pretty much over Barstow

2. Now goto radar.weather.gov... make sure you select reflectivity, the "plume" is in the exact same spot.

3. Click on 1-hour total for rainfall and you see that suprise suprise the pattern presented looks like the plume.

Now unless it's a new form of volcanoe which spews water instead of ash then I'd quite happily put money on it being rain and clouds

The guy is intentionally misleading you all by showing 2 images of the same area but looking at a different locations in each image to make out that weather.gov has been censored because he's picked a spot further East which has no clouds or rain

That's the beauty of (the rational side of) ATS. This wasn't a "we're gonna die!!" claim. This was the presentation of a possible event for the purpose of determining whether or not it's actually occurring. There's a difference.
There's a reason I keep coming back to this place day after day. It's definitely not because it gives me free ice cream.

1. Nexrad image

2. Weather.gov reflectivity image

3. Weather.gov 1-hour rainfall total

Pretty straight forward to understand (unless you're dutchsinse)

In the Nexrad image the "plume" is between +4 to +16 DBZ, yet in the Weather.gov image its between 20-30 DBZ. Why the difference?

Weather.gov is probably more accurate as the site seems to be generally better seeing as though weather.gov has upto 75DBZ on the scale while Nexrad only goes upto 28 ?

Looking at those radar images you all are posting up.. what is the color indicating? I tried to read the legend on the right hand side but it was too small! Is this temperature? Precipitation? If not a heat geyser or lava, what is it exactly?
