yes this really happened, here is the article www.cnn.com... and this is the reason of the post

Pomykala then struck one of the air marshals in the throat "with a bladed, karate-style thrust strike" and followed with a choke hold move, according to the complaint.
so do you think it is safe to fly?

Yeah, I still think its safe to fly.

Just cause some air marshal(rent-a-cop) got punched we have to panic all of sudden?? Phffft.

WHAT?????i thougth the scrutiny by TSA employees was more than secure,didnt know that there were marshalls in the airplanes.

Seems to me that the situation happened in the best way possible. Yes, the dude sucker punched the marshall, but the guy was restrained, handcuffed, and everything ended up fine.

Unless you have a team of people highly trained in close quarter combat, I just don't see it being very easy to hijack or even cause a serious threat to a plane anymore.

to answer op question, yup its as safe as its ever bien!! i prob have more of a chance getting killed by a snake, and i live in ireland, we dont have snake's

Pretty soon they'll be checking in hands and reattaching them after the flight.
Gonna have to be spoon fed your meals in flight.
