In the last few days Queenland Australia, an unimaginable and trully biblical size area neads ATS.

WHY?

Because a large proportion is under 9m (about 27ft)of water that came without the best warning in the world

And now there is a cyclone comming.

Your advice and expertise is needed.

This is what ATS was made for!

AND

The premier and others are conspicuous by her absence..

C'mon best advisors and investigators on the net!

Help Queensland Australia!

They showed a map this morning where the heaviest rainfalls were and it was like a semi-circle around perth... thunder, and rain and storms and floods everywhere, but in perth, 35 and hot again.

After that inland tsunami yesterday it's just gotten so scary over there.

Bump for this thread.

www.ausaid.gov.au...
The Aussie's certainly help their brothers & sisters.

A national appeal has been launched to help Queensland's flood victims. Premier Anna Bligh initiated the fund after viewing the devastation at Rockhampton and Bundaberg. Donations can be made at www.qld.gov.au... or by calling 1800 219 028 or at a branch of: - Bank of Queensland, - Commonwealth Bank, - Westpac, - ANZ, - NAB, or - Suncorp and cheques can also be made out to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal.

A star and a flag and a bump.

I do not know what we can do. Do any other ATS members know of anyone collecting for this disaster here in the USA?

The only other thing I can think of is they came up with the idea of using shipping pods for temporary housing in Haiti. inhabitat.com...

OH and be careful about the water you drink!

without the best warning in the world

Were they not warned by their media or governing bodies? Or just not enough advance warning?

The premier and others are conspicuous by her absence..

Well now, that's quite interesting.

I hope their version of FEMA is better than ours, but somehow I doubt it.

Firstly Id just like to say the Premier & Prime Minister (I dislike both so not defending them) are all over the news, ABC News 24 is almost non-stop coverage.

The floods are on their way to Brisbane, Queenslands capital city, which has a river run through the middle of it. The flood prevention dam is full & all flood gates are fully open, so dont be surprised if you hear news of Brisbane flooding in the next day, maybe even tonight. Some areas are already on evacuation alert, the Brisbane River has already broken its banks. Some roads around Brisbane have been cut.

There are 8 confirmed dead & 72 people missing.

Lets also not forget that, in typical Australian style, in the state of Western Australia, south of its capital Perth, there are bushfires raging, claiming homes.

The fire/drought/flood cycle is completely normal for Australia, BUT, floods on this scale are going to break every record Id say. Floods, fire etc are totally normal, but not this wide spread & fast moving.

These floods are also heading to the state of NSW. My cousins live on a river up near the NSW/QLD border & I have no doubt they have or are getting ready to evacuate.

Try these sites for up to date info;

www.abc.net.au...
www.sbs.com.au...
www.sbs.com.au...

We are getting offers of assistance from around the Pacific, the US & UN. We have accepted manpower from New Zealand & they are on the ground now.

The rain keeps falling all along the eastern 1/3 of Australia.
