Anyone who has advocated peace has been killed... why?

So I was just sitting here thinking about how we dont really have any "peace" advocates anymore, at least not at all like the ones we've had in the past. It also seems that people who promoted any kind of major change, john lennon, princess diana,martin luther king, harvey milk, abe lincoln, jfk, bob marley(many people believe someone murdered him, not natural causes), etc ... it makes you wonder...

Do we not see any of those same kinds of people nowadays because they are afraid? Do people get some sort of warning from the government if they DO promote change, and then stop because of it? Is the government in fact responsible for the murders of most, if not all, of these promoters of change?

I cant help but wonder what kind of bull [SNIP] world we live in, if that is indeed the case.

It seems to me that the government enjoys taking away every single piece of joy and peace and happiness from our lives, and they wont stop anytime soon because they know they can get away with it.. no one tries to stop them and if they do, they get killed.

so i guess my question is.. how can we ever make things change? can we ever overthrow the government and make them suffer in the way theyve made us suffer?

If so, I want to know where I sign up

We sit here preaching about how we want the world to change.. how the government is horrible... how we want to have a good life not only for ourselves but for our children and grandchildren... and yet none of us does a thing about it but talk in forums on the internet about it.

If there is anyway to promote significant change without getting shot at, I would like to know.

You're so right. John Lennon, for me, is the most obvious case. He told the youth to give peace a chance just as the world was circling the pan and ready to go down the shi**er. The government was trying to recruite more and more school leavers into the armed forces and instead those youngsters were chilling out, relaxing and taking time out to enjoy life!

yeah its such baloney. i know there are billions of people in the world who are good people, who want a good life and a good world to live in. Why cant ANY of us do a damn thing?

it sure does. i mean... i cant really say if there is anyone right now that is comparable to any of the above people mentioned... but im gonna watch and if we get another person coming around promoting peace and change and they suddenly end up dead.. i'll know what happened.

this is true. good point. christ was the ultimate peace promoter who was killed in a horrible way.

Once huge profits can be realized through the acceptance of peace, it will be instantaneous. Until then, peace is unprofitable, therefore, not gonna happen.

yeah unfortunate as it is... i think the only thing we as citizens can do is come together and fight for what we believe in. I mean, really fight. Fight the hell out of it. Would you rather fight for change in this world and for what you think is right, or would you rather continue to live comfortably in this false world where everything is crumbling down around you and have it be a place of hell for your grandchildren?

I think a revolution is needed. Im not afraid of it at all, I welcome it.

im gonna have to disagree on this one. most of those people were already really well known for making a lot of change and i think it wouldve stayed that way had they still been alive today

You have two types of people in this world. Warriors and Wizards.

Warriors see a goal they must meet and they go at it by force.

Wizards see that same goal and they go at it with intelligence.


The two often clash and like one would think the Warriors handle the Wizards without a problem.

Now if the Wizards want to have their chance at making the world at peace, then they must become a little of what they hate, they must fight the Warriors as a Warrior.

Only when the Wizards can do that will we have a chance at world peace. As much as I don't like him Malcome X was on the right path. He met violence with violence so that peace could be had.

Oh, fair enough ;D It was just a thought that I didn't filter. haha.

But still, they were well known, and died lobbying for what they believed in most. To me, that carries much more of an impact, because we did know them. And they showed us that some causes ARE worth dying for.
They believed in it that strongly.

Todays society gets bored quickly, (minus retarded reality shows that keep on ticking) haha. But what my thought circled around.

If Lennon was alive today, sure he could rally more and more people...but a lot of sheeple would just hear a broken record. of sorts.

i agree 100 percent. im the type of person who is not confrontational.. i have never fought one person... i would never want to. BUT if it came down to something I felt was important enough to fight for, I would.

The underlying function of government is to prepare for or go to war.

So is peace the enemy of the government?

The U.S. is the largest seller of arms in the world.

It is close to if not the largest export we have.

You have to believe that spreading democracy across the planet

improves the quality of life.

Capitalism allows for competitions to be fought in the marketplace

rather than the battlefield.

It has brought about rapid advancements in life saving/altering

technologies that would not have occurred under socialist regimes

China is a good example of a communist country that is clearly

embracing capitalism and we are all better off for it, at least for now.

No doubt we are becoming more socialistic in the U.S., but the

underlying principles of capitalism remain intact.

You want to overthrow our government and make them suffer?

Why?

because they are liars, manipulators, and evil. they care more about their steak at dinner than the people of their country.
