Prior to the British Mandate Palestine was occupied by Christians, Muslims & a small number of Jews. I don't believe that your statement is entirely true. Like the Hitler Youth, many young Muslims are taught to hate and kill non-Muslims especially Jews and Americans. They are taught that Jews are sub-human so that killing them is not a crime. You should also take a look around the world at how many conflicts are the cause of Muslim aggression. How about Chechnya, remember the Beslan school massacre? Maybe you would consider the conflict in Kashmir against the Indian government. India is a secular country but for some reason, the Muslims can't live there in peace; like in the Mumbai attack. How about Darfur? How about Serbia and Albania? The Muslim rebellion in China or the Philippines? Or the three Christian girls in Indonesia that were beheaded by Muslims? Not all of this violence is because of Israel or the U.S. But the Muslim religion is a common thread in all of them. It may be true that there are a lot of peace loving Muslims who do get along with their neighbors, but it is also true that a lot of Muslims fully support a global Jihad against all non-Muslims. And it is also true that Muslim terrorist specifically target civilians, and children. When you look at how hard Western countries try to limit civilian casualties versus the deliberate attacks by the Muslims, it is hard to find sympathy for them. I understand that Israel is no lamb in these matters, but the Palestinians have blown several chances to work out a decent and fair peace settlement due to their own hatred and desire to destroy Israel.

I feel that way as well. These pro-Israel posters always seem to try and turn this into us versus Islam thing, but thats not what it is at all. Israel has basically pillaged Palestine for decades, and when you bully someone long enough, they tend to finally fight back. I do not condone rockets on civilians, but Palestinian civilians have been at the receiving end of far worse in my opinion. Israel needs to look in the mirror, they obviously don't want to hear it from any of the European or Western nations. Please, do not just get angry when we say we don't think Israel should be allowed to do what they are currently doing. Stop and think of some form of argument, not just simply insults. Israel is behaving like a rogue state; they do not follow UN protocol. They take when they want to take. They attack when they want to attack (but lo and behold, they are "kind" enough to phone and tell the Palestinian civilians that their houses are about to get bombed). Israel sickens me. It shouldn't be a country, and yet they are allowed to use any means necessary to cling on. I admit Hamas doesn't deserve to exist either. When will the Jews stop crying about the past? If you live in the US, there are other races and cultures here who have suffered their own holocaust (African Americans, Native Americans, Hispanics). Are the Jews in America concerned about the plight of these people? Who stepped in for these people when they needed help? What I'm saying is many of us have a horrific past, but we must move forward as a nation, as a people and stop living with a chip on our shoulder that "the enemy is out to get us!"

Therefore, we need to push our leaders for peace in Gaza. There is no other way if we are to survive. We also need to cut Israel off from receiving money. We can use that to take care of our people at home who are suffering under an economic collapse brought on by the neocons and Israel.

As much as Israel is hated around the world with only the US as a friend, I would be quiet and try to live peacefully with the Palestinians. They may end up losing more than they bargained for.

2. The bombing of the hotel with British citizens was nothing surprising or new for the British. THAT is a wrong impression. During the initial six day war, it was these so called "Palestinians" who LEFT for Arab states as the Arabs were planning on purging the Jews. When the Arabs lost most of them remained in the Arab states as citizens.
