Me? No. A bud in France, one in Manitoba and one in Mexico. There's a bunch of other folks they know. Our Celestron won't be set up until... maybe August. We need to find a place to put it where it's dark and can be left setup permanently and have broadband access and about a 100 other little things like loading a Fortran 90 stack which I have't done in like at least decade.

The young lady who is staying with us has a young man that is really into astronomy. Gonna be a real astronomer. One of them there book-learnin' youngsters. Nice kid. I'll get him to run it while we are travelling.

27 minutes to CA.

Total electron count, the amount of electrons in the atmosphere. That red patch is usually a quarter of that size, following the track of the Sun. I've been watching it for the past few days, it's never extended toward the Antarctic like that.

I'm a skeptic, but this seems very coincidental.

Main site - www.ips.gov.au... Bottom right hand corner, world TEC conditions.

Actually that's nearly normal. A bit above maybe. Cool. It's sunny there right now. Lots of electrons. Where it's dark... nada.

Cheers,

This thread's been a real hoot!

And a great learning experience as well.

I think on some level I'm actually gonna miss it when it's over...

No worries guys... I know that it's currently where the Sun is, it just seemed quite larger than normal. Maybe the Sun is getting in the act

I can't wait to be let down! I will be outside in 21 minutes, and then 5 after that, run back in and check the charts. Wish I hadn't been stoned in my science classes. Sigh.
