What your saying is true, for now, but the party aint over yet, you see, there is an event coming called the "Resurrection" where everyone who has ever lived will be reunited with their flesh and will be united with the spirit world and stand before Gods throne and be judged by him, some to everlasting life and some to everlasting death. that's why Jesus is called the first resurrected from the dead. which is why it is impossible for his body to be here on the earth.

You people are fighting over a claim made by James Cameron, for heaven's sake.

Is he an archaeologist?

An historian?

A Bible scholar?

A specialist in the chemical analysis of 2,000-year-old human remains?

No, he's a man who makes far-fetched movies that push foolish people's emotional buttons with violence, sentimentality and above all spectacle.

And this is the man whose claims spark all this excited debate?

Cool down, for goodness sake.

Go look at this thread, which is about the same topic and links to a news story that actually discusses the facts and probable veracity of this claim.

Then go back to arguing, if you still want to.

No, they wont.
because theyre flesh has brocken down while its under the dirt
its been eaten by maggots and has degraded.

If jesus was ever going to come down and correct the sins of man,he would of done it long ago.
we have murdered maimed and caused suffering like never before..

There is no Jesus or God, we are alone on this world and you will not understand this until you die, everyone dies alone.

Life is all about how you contribute to better other peoples lives, wether you are happy, or sad.

the closest thing we will ever get to jesus returning, or the imam returning or what ever, is some deeply religous NUT, claiming that jesus has reborn INTO someone.
Hell I can go out on the street and chant scream and claim that jesus has been reborn into the nearest person i find...
im sure some religous people will believe it.

Harsh Reality is, Jesus was merely a man with a message.
HE was not magical, he did not RISE from the dead.. he spread the idea of love thy fellow man, and expect nothing in return, that is the happiest place to be.
If you understand that message your a lot better off than most people.

but if you spend your life waiting for his return, or expecting some magical awakening when you die, you will be sorely mistaken.

Religion is a myth, your mind is what its all about.
Start looking at the 5" in front of your face, thats all you have .

To some extent yes but I feel that science falls far short in dealing with the spirit world.

thats because the spirit world exists in the human mind, and not in real life.
were there spirits here during the dinosaurs ?

Science rips the bible apart at every seem.
If it is impossible to PROVE something isnt there, then it isnt there.
you cannot prove a spirit is there, but you can prove oxygen is there.

We have the ability to prove things that we cannot see, or touch... but we through sciene can prove its there.
the same cannot be said about spirits.... its a mental thing created to ease human minds... thats fine, im happy for people to do that.
but when they start telling me its fact that the spirit of jesus will return to earth, his blood, flesh and bone will regather and form a human again, i find it very hard to see any reality.

Look, if it were true that jesus bones were found in this tomb then it stands to reason that the bible is not true concerning jesus asention into heaven, thats why it upsets the faith of many who believe. so trying to say that this could be helpful to the christian faith is a bit short sighted IMO.

Do not confuse the spirit with the flesh.

spirits, I do not believe there is life other than what we can see, or touch on planet earth.

There are aliens, and outside life beyond our planet, but no... I do not believe there are spirits around us.

I believe in Karma, and Luck.. but not in spirits and such.

Not so long ago, I was asleep in my bed..

some how, i was half awake half asleep and i saw 'something' floating over me.. it looked evil and mean...
so much so i was petrified,
I jumped up and turned on the light...

this was not a spirit... this was a nightmare interlaced with my surroundings.

but back in the day of 'witches' and knights... had someone of experienced something like this, they would of documented it as a spirit...........................

We are biological beings.. we have atoms, cells and so forth
when we die, our biological system shuts off, and erodes eveantually into dust.

there is no 'spirit' in us that lasts once we die... our mind is the electrons in our brain, when our brain dies, our mind shuts off.

its really that simple.

I dont believe I have, the Resurrection of jesus is on the chopping block here. Please correct me if I'm wrong in my interpretation.

a few points:

* Your physical body is a vibration of energy in a quantum universe, physical reality is somewhat a trick of the mind.

* Furthermore you don't HAVE a spirit / soul, you ARE a spirit / soul. Your consciousness is the manifestation of your spirit in this particular universe.

* Whether or not these bones belong to the 'historical Jesus' you can bet your ass there is an agenda behind this doco.

* It is obvious that this agenda is to undermine the resurrection of Jesus, central to the faith of Christianity worldwide.

It is obvious to me this is part of the move to globalise religion. All mainstream western religions are under attack at the moment. The motive is to unite the world spiritually under one religion, which is probably some quasi-gnostic doctrine sitting on a drawing board somewhere.

Also I found this Shar chi partly confirming your theory and mine also,

Obviously, if this Da Vinci Code ("Holy Blood, Holy Grail") story were true, Jesus' body would be lying somewhere in a cave. In fact, this book, "Holy Blood, Holy Grail", strongly hinted that the secret societies had discovered Jesus' body many centuries ago, and were awaiting "just the right time" to reveal it to the world!

What might that "right time" be? Just before the appearance of the Masonic Christ, of course! For, just before his staged appearance on the world scene, a major effort must be made to conivnce the world that Jesus never resurrected. Not only would millions of nominal Christians suffer a loss of faith, but the vast majority of the world would feel safe in believing that Jesus Christ was simply another "World Teacher", an Avatar, on the same basis as Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed, and other Avatars of other religions. Therefore, when Antichrist will claim that he is possessed of the same "Christ Consciousness Spirit" as that which possessed Buddha, Krishna, Mohammed, Jesus -- all in their own time periods, people will believe him more readily.

what say you Shar chi on this information??? this whole thing has been predicted to happen all along.

If it is impossible to PROVE something isnt there, then it isnt there.

Absolutely wrong. I believe it was Carl Sagan who said 'Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence'. I'm not a christian and I'm iffy at best about the bible, but let's not go assuming that anything we can't prove doesn't exist. Imagine all the things we couldn't prove 100 years ago. If we'd settled for 'if we can't prove it, it doesn't exist', we never would have proven those things would we?

I have just watched the piece about it on Skynews,

the whole TV crew from the discovery channel do not believe it.

more info on the program here:

The final matter to be understood is that this spurious story is being backed by some of the greatest "heavy hitters" in Mass Media.

"The film, which documents the stages of the discovery, is the result of three years labor and research. It will be broadcast on the international Discovery Channel, Britain's Channel 4, Canada’s Vision and Israel’s Channel 8, which also took part in the film's production. " (Ibid.)

That lineup is quite impressive. The Discovery Channel, in particular, has the reputation of being quite scientific and very impartial. When they air this documentary, a lot of people will be convinced.

This film also will trot out quite of number of "experts" to solidify their claim.

"According to the filmmakers, the film’s claim is based on close work with world-famous scientists, archeologists, statisticians, DNA specialists and antiquities experts."

The "DNA Specialists" will carry extraordinary weight with a lot of people in the world in carrying out this charade.

I couple this with the story of the Imminent attack on Iran just around the corner and we have the recipe for WWIII to usher in the supposed offspring of jesus who will have all the answers to solve the worlds woe's

Well, yeah prophecy has a funny way of fulfilling itself, especially if it serves certain vested interests.

Btw I'm not against a consensus between world religions united under some universal doctrine per se, but I think it's a process that should be conducted openly - not behind closed doors & sneaky hidden agendas.

If there was one word to describe the way the PTB go about their business it would be ASSBACKWARDS.

Edit:
I might add that to change world opinion, you first must plant the seeds of doubt (in the status quo), so when a mind-jarring event happens later, people subconsciously recall the 'doubt seed' and allow it to take root. It's Marketing 101. You don't have to change people's minds, they will do it willingly themselves if you follow the formula.

What we are perhaps seeing here is another 'doubt seed'. It follows on quite neatly from the Da Vinci Code phenomenon.

I find it laughable that in a world of so called intelligent beings that people still believe in religion. Are people that weak to exist within themselves that they have to find reason of being in some mystical bearded guy or a short bloke with too many bellies?

It's such a silly concept that it's hardly worth the effort of typing. One thing religion will ensure is the continued suffering and dis-harmony amongst man caused by these silly beliefs.

If god really did exist he is one seriously sick twisted piece of work.

As far as Jesus goes, I think he existed, but he was not a son of some god - just a bloke with great pr skills, a sheppard if you will for all the weak minded to follow.

I've agreed with you pretty much so far on this thread. However, I'm concerned that if this all proves to be true, having the spiritual rug pulled out from under over a billion people is not going to be pretty. Who can predict the amount of social and political upheaval that would be caused. I can easily imagine wars since many people might think they no longer have religious tenets such as the 10 commandments holding them back from doing whatever they want.
