Oh my:

www.theguardian.com...

Russia-Ukraine war live: Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin onboard plane involved in fatal crash, Russian aviation authority says

Goes without saying this is very unlikely to have been a classic “accident”.

Interesting times….

Apparently it was shot down by Russian air defences. A tragic accident. Wait, my ironyometer just exploded.
Perhaps he finally ran out of body doubles?

We all knew...it was just a matter of time before he had some type of accident...

Man - what a day.

After significant internet rumors emerged Tuesday, Russian state news agency RIA confirmed Wednesday that Gen. Sergei Surovikin has been fired as head of the country's air force. He has been "missing" - or believed under house arrest, since the Wagner mutiny events of June 23-24. He had for months prior overseen Russia's war efforts in Ukraine.

www.zerohedge.com...

So you fire one and take out the other… I feel like things are about to get more interesting in the near future.

With the way Putin has been cleaning house, I don’t doubt it.

Then again, they might pin this on NATO. We’ll see.

I'm suprised he didn't fall out of an "open" window on the aircraft??

The question now is;

Given Prigozhin's apparent popularity, will this "tragic accident" be taken as a warning, or an incitement, to those within Russia, including the Russian government, who supported him?

May be Putin's way of waving good-bye to Wagner as an organization. Other PMCs will fill the role.

Cheers

I'm generally skeptical about anything coming out of this war.

Could he have been taken out? Sure.

Could this be his "retirement plan"? Maybe

Could it all be BS? Also equally likely.

If you play with fire expect to get burned.

Video of the plane falling to earth.

May he rest in pieces.

I agree. The guy was a folk hero of sorts in Russia. Never mind the legions who were employed by/followed him.

If this gets triangulated to being a hit job by Putin, I wonder how Wagner will respond - against whoever did it.

The most dangerous outcome that I see right off the bat is this being done by the west/NATO/Ukraine in an attempt to pin it on Putin. I doubt that’s the case, but, if it was then things could escalate quickly, IMO.

If I’m Poland, I’m on high alert right now.

There’s also the matter of his other plane… what if they shot down the wrong one!

If that is the aircraft he was on, planes don't usually just drop from the sky like that?

to far inside russia to blame NATO outright, now blaming NATO for supplying Ukrainian SPECOPS or what ol farty calls them Ukrainian terrorist is very possible.

Agree it’s too far inside, but, someone has to be blamed if this is “terror” related. And the chances of them admitting to “domestic terrorism” - aka outright assassination/murder- seems a bit unlikely to me.

This is bullish for NATO - cracks be cracking.

Yeah, seems too risky for Western intel ops. That would be a huge roll of the dice.

ol farty

Careful, I got two warnings from a certain mod for saying Poo-tin and not using his correct name on these boards.

The video shown by Gortex does look like an aircraft that's had it's aerodynamics affected by something?

It looks like it could have been "accidentally" shot down.
