I wouldn't call it a litmus test, but this is exactly why the SCOTUS pushed it to a state level issue. I'm pro-life, but I support the right for people to vote yes or no at the state level for it.

I do find it funny that so many people were pissing and moaning after the SCOTUS did this, and now they're happy about it when they get their way. I think everything should be determined by states rights.

Abortion is the premeditated killing of another human being, for convenience, in the majority of cases.
That is all.
Thank you.
Bush & Cheney killed millions of children & women in the middle east directly & via spent uranium munitions.

Yes, they did.
I fail to see the logic in your post....
You justify premeditated killing with premeditated killing.

Abortion is the premeditated killing of another human being for convenience, in the majority of cases.
A human beings life begins at conception and ends at death. This is a continuous, unbroken cycle that flows in a single direction, by an internally directed process.
A woman’s decision to abort does not kill you or your neighbors & that decision is between god or the devil morally in her life .
No woman made a decision in Iraq to abort her child , thus unleashing US bombs on her country & killing half a million kids & counting .

Again, you are using the premeditated killing of human beings to justify the premeditated killing of human beings

I agree with that, with one caveat, people should be able to leave their state if they don’t agree.
Some states have grappled with that action too.

If abortion is not legal in their state can they leave to a neighboring state?
If xyz isn’t for sale in their state can they buy it in another state?

Well, Idaho has become the first state to pass a law explicitly restricting some out-of-state travel for abortions. The new legislation makes helping a pregnant minor get an abortion, whether through medication or a procedure, in another state punishable by two to five years in prison.

So, could be interesting. Mom takes daughter out of state. Divorced Dad didn't know, didn't agree, Mom now jailed. Dad rapes underage daughter, Grandma takes her for an abortion. Again, now grandma jailed. Boyfriend drives 17 year old girlfriend or orders her plan B. Now boyfriend jailed.

Very slippery slope. Pregnancy inspections at state border? To and from?

Hopefully the Idaho po-po get adequate speculum training along with the other sidearms they'll need to carry.

Abortion stayed legal in my state, and I'd assume people can leave Texas and have the abortion performed here if needs be. I don't really know all the rules, nor do I care. My wife and I are both pro-life so we won't have to worry about deciding on an abortion. We also don't throw a fit when people decide to have one because it's neither our problem, nor business. That's on them, not us. What we won't support, is anything that alters your mind because that could have an effect on us if that person is sharing the same highway as we are.

I’ve learned that life has a way of punching you in the neck when you least expect it.
Just because you are pro life doesn’t mean you’ll never need an abortion. I wrote about my experience with my much wanted pregnancy, there are many others like me.
Pray that none of your loved ones need it due to a medical issue.

Anecdotal experiences don't really mean much on here. We'll need more than just that.

Doesn’t mean much until it happens to you or a loved one.

I do, but it's legal here so it doesn't matter. If her life was in danger or she was raped, we'd do what was necessary. If raped, two lives would be taken. While I'm pro-life, I also understand there are complications and rare conditions that warrant an abortion. I don't have an issue with abortion in those circumstances. I think states messed up when they made it all or nothing. What I don't support, is abortion because the child will be a burden or because the woman is so vain that she doesn't want to have a "baby body".

And? When it occurs? Just like all the states that claim "oh, if medically necessary, it'll be done", yeah right, how many instances are we seeing that it's not being done?

I know that in my job, when we're talking with teams that will affect a policy locally and globally, we go over just about every "what if" question we can to make sure all areas are covered. Yet lawmakers just write them willy nilly? Or maybe as bills brought forth in Louisiana they are actually assisted by religious figures to write the bill.

Either way, these "what ifs" can occur. And again, all fine and dandy until it's your family affected. Then, outrage.

So if I am to understand this right.Women who normally would lean Republican and vote Republican will vote Democrat which is the same party that can not even define what a woman is and allows for transgender women to dominate female sports? Or did I missing something

On another note the Guttmacher Institute states that 1% of abortions were because of rape and less than 0.5% were from incest. Both are terrible situations but why are these some of the main points said over and over again to justify abortion?

I can not find any statics..(still looking) concerning abortion that were done to save the mothers life due to complications. I don't like assuming but I will assume they are still a small percentage of the reasons for abortions.

It was very interesting in Wisconsin. YES Republican women voted for a Liberal Sup. Court justice, but if you look at local races, and referendums, you’ll see the fiscally conservatism is still approved.

I’ve said it, many have said it.

A lot of people are Liberally Social, but Conservative Fiscally. Yes at some points there is a junction.

Well, if you look at the small percentage of women on ATS, both JAGSTORM and myself have needed a D&C during a very much wanted pregnancy, and I believe I've heard other female members mention the same. A D&C is the same as an abortion, just the more palatable term of what they are actually doing (Dilation and curettage).

I think you would be quite surprised at the amount of women who need that, not to mention what may be needed later in term.

Don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’m a woman and I live in a heavily Republican area. 999999999% of my friends are Republicans and we talk openly and candidly. I even talked to my massage therapist and asked her. Her exact words, I lean republican for all things but women should have the right to choose. She then said most men have no clue how many women have had an abortion.

This was never about prochoice, or prolife. It was about the mistake the SC did many decades ago that no one bothered to fix until recently. What the SC did was 100% correct, people voting in their state for this issue is also 100% correct.

There's a lot of abnormal people.
Noticed some people pipped down a bit after I provided proof of all the states that don't allow it even
in cases of rape or incest.

How sick is that!

I can't even imagine a woman getting raped, and then getting pregnant and being told by strangers that it was illegal for her to get an abortion. Want to add salt to the wound, in some states RAPIST, can sue their victims for parental rights......................

She needs to suck it up like the ultimate rape victim, Mary. Who knows which lucky new mom is carrying the next rape-messiah.
