All eyes were on our state and it was clear as day, women right to choose will not be going back in time.

How important was this race?
HERE

For the first time in 15 years, liberals win control of the Wisconsin Supreme Court

This single race was the litmus test to the rest of the country. NO there was not cheating, the votes were being checked three times.
The turnout was historic in some areas. I know at my voting place I have never seen crowds of the like and the weather was horrible.

There was a question on the ballot asking people if they support welfare recipients to have to look for work. This was mostly put in there to draw Republican voters as these requirement are already in place.

Guys you need to take a deep breath because I’m going to tell you something you may not want to hear.
Your wife/girlfriend/mom/sister/aunt/grandma/female coworker might appear to be Republican inside and out, she might even say she is anti abortion………but when it comes time to vote, she is voting pro choice. You know why, because so many women know that this isn’t just about abortion. This is about etopic pregnancy, this is about the morning after pill, this is about our daughters being raped and getting pregnant, this is about men and doctors never caring for our health and just wanting to work out the details later.

Don’t tell me I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’m a woman and I live in a heavily Republican area. 999999999% of my friends are Republicans and we talk openly and candidly. I even talked to my massage therapist and asked her. Her exact words, I lean republican for all things but women should have the right to choose. She then said most men have no clue how many women have had an abortion.

The Republicans sank their own ship . Countless conservative women in my family lost their minds over R v W overturning.
Why don’t Republicans work on passing laws that make it easier to adopt children in the USA .
If Republicans keep up their anti-choice campaigns , they will all be out of jobs hurray !!!
Now to clean house on the democrat’s side .

I'm pro life, but Wisconsin voters exercised their constitutional rights. I'm okay with that.

That's the difference here. I have no problem with voters in a state making a different decision that I would. People in that state who are pro life can try to change people's minds through debate and discourse, and maybe someday it'll change. Maybe it won't. But that's how our system is supposed to work.

The pro choice crowd wanted their decision illegally forced on the entire country by 9 people. That's not how our system works. That's authoritarianism. That's what I was against. That's what the fight over Roe was about. Those days are now over.
You live in reason & logic . Good on yah !

Low information voters of WI are about to get what they voted for.

Your murder rates are already going up, and you just gave the leftists carte blanche to gut your legal system further.

But hey, now you don't have to worry about using annoying condoms anymore. yay
Bit dramatic no ?

Correct statement would be why doesnt either party make it easier to adopt a child and finally ditch the antiquated thought that only a blood relative can do right by a child. (or outright killing the child like the dems prefer)

Bit dramatic no ?

No She believes its ok to skirt the law and rule based on her opinion of the law rather than actual case law that is not good for any logical thinking citizen.

Do you have any evidence that men are overwhelmingly voting against abortion while it is women who are "secretly" voting overwhelmingly for abortion?

You do realize men have daughters too right?

Based on national statistics women do have an edge on supporting abortion over men; but not in the capacity that anyone should be surprised that they don't know their mom's, wife's, daughter's opinion on the matter... this isn't the 1950s anymore where women feel afraid to let their opinions known. [I actually find it fascinating that so many women seem to fantasies that it is].

There isn't some sleeping giant here; its a 50/50 issue with one side having the current edge.

It is 80/20 pro choice. How did you compute 50/50 ?

I go with data like that I linked too. Not me feelings.

ETA;.

Even when discussing total complete bans on abortion the national average is at 60/40. Far from this 80/20 you are pushing.

Here is another link on how people self identify. (55% Pro Abortion)

Times sure have changed on ATS. A post like this year’s ago you would’ve had people flying in calling you baby killer and all sorts of nonsense.

Actually, when I joined in 2007, everyone was very much more Libertarian and not for the government telling you to do anything.

ATS is turning to the left & soon to Social Democracy 👍

My stance? I support "Life" and that Baby automatically VOIDS you and your feelings. Sorry, not sorry?

Which life? The life of an embryo or of a 10 year old child that was impregnated by her dad?
The life of a mom that wants a baby so bad but hers was formed without perfectly working organs?

Bingo , get’em girl 👍

Abortion is the premeditated killing of another human being, for convenience, in the majority of cases.
That is all.
Thank you.
Bush & Cheney killed millions of children & women in the middle east directly & via spent uranium munitions.

LOL

You are 100% right and you can count on me for my support. Republican men are too stupid and arrogant to understand anything involving birth, apparently. Wisconsin is losing doctors fast because the law is getting in the way of them treating their patients with ethical medical care. It's not just about abortion.

Yes, they did.
I fail to see the logic in your post....
You justify premeditated killing with premeditated killing.

Abortion is the premeditated killing of another human being for convenience, in the majority of cases.
A human beings life begins at conception and ends at death. This is a continuous, unbroken cycle that flows in a single direction, by an internally directed process.

Well if guys didn’t get so many women pregnant it wouldn’t be an issue.

The woman has to agree to engage in the act. They both know the possible outcome of their decision to have sex.
Both consented to try and create a new human life knowing that there are only two 100% effective forms of birth control:
Abstinence and Abortion.
Only one of these two end in the premeditated killing of another human being for convenience, in the majority of cases.

Read what I wrote.
Besides, you are using a faulty generalization, "an informal fallacy wherein a conclusion is drawn about all or many instances of a phenomenon on the basis of one or a few".

Are you a woman?
You think it is a few, but every time a woman says she is raped there are men screaming she wasn’t. She get’s blamed.
You have no clue the amount of domestic violence, the amount of sexual violence, the amount of abuse that goes on.
Guess who knows……….VOTING Women, even conservative.

A woman’s decision to abort does not kill you or your neighbors & that decision is between god or the devil morally in her life .
No woman made a decision in Iraq to abort her child , thus unleashing US bombs on her country & killing half a million kids & counting .
