50 years since the flash of light that produced one of the most iconic albums ever produced the Floyd have Re-mastered the cultural treasure so you've never heard it so good.

You read my mind.

I can now watch the Live Paris protests with the volume turned down and this as background music.

I'll be reading "The Battle of the Bulge & The Defense of St. Vith and the U.S. 9th Armored Division." My brother sent it to me, our uncle was in the 27th AIB.

warfarehistorynetwork.com...

Lovely music to read by.

Fantastic! I’m grabbing this for later consumption!

I wonder how many modern bands will be able to boast 50th anniversary editions of their albums in the future. I have Deep Purple’s 1995 remastered 25th anniversary album of In Rock (original release in 1970). All these classic old albums are ripe for sound improvements in this digital age; how can modern music be improved, sound-wise? Music-wise, improvement would take a lot more than remastering…

Damn, listening now sounds excellent on my crappy earbuds, and with my tinnitus in my left ear, awesome sauce

amazing how many people still don't know about Floyd and its emotionally reactive properties, it never fails... first time I heard the complete album I was 10 years old in 1974 on an 8-track. Later it was the first album I listened to when I got a new stereo car or otherwise, and the first CD, and MP3

like the mona lisa, like a work of da vinci. almost perfect. nevertheless, i like wish you were and the wall more.

if you imagine that these guys were all only in their late 20s when they recorded it... there won't be many musicians in history whose music achieves the status of timelessness.

Echoes is a greatest hits kind of thing, but it is my "most-listened to" album.
Soothing, haunting, and a whole lot more.
Hell, David Bowie honored them on his PinUps album.

Has anyone compared it to any of the other remasters that have come out?
I have the Capital 1994, Harvest/EMI 1993 CDs and the 30th Anniversary SACD.
To me the Harvest version is the best one I have. I haven't had the chance to listen to compare any later releases.

As part of the 50th anniversary celebration Floyd have released The Dark Side Of The Moon (Live at Wembley 1974) [2023 Master]

Studio albums are nice but live is where it's at.
