Interesting. Family is in DC right now, they visited Holocaust museum yesterday actually. The approach you speak of has been proposed, (not exactly how you suggest, but a surprise party nonetheless, a liberty flight to..well..ultimate liberty) Even done in the dark im certain..in recent times..If you listen you will hear stories among survivors..maybe, but like you say mostly just fear as what we may call superstition is a large part of Latin culture.

There's nothing quite as scary to me as mass genocide and murder that has only been seen from the likes of Communism and Socialism, now that's horrific off the scale compared to a description of someone being hacked to death with a machete.

We need to stop trying to correct the root cause problems that other countries have, and worry about what is going on in our own government

The Mexican Government must fight it's own battles. They are big ones when it comes to keeping their vacation retreats safe, stopping all of the drugs entering into the US as well as contributing to the border crisis.

We should sanction them with the complete loss of our tourist trade and all of their travel here, until things radically improve. That itself will be enough impetus for them to go after those cartels themselves.

The Juarez Cartel has a New Worth of 25 billion. That's more than the GDP of 87 counties. And that is just The Juarez Cartel.

There's also the Sinaloa, Tijuana, Guadalajara, and Gulf to contend with. And several others.

So many greased palms south of the border. It's like America before Anti-trust laws only with illicit drugs instead of steel and lumber. Probably no better time than dealing with a "cartel lobbyist".

Mexican politics = corruption. Plain and simple. Better than it use to be but still at all levels of government.

We are the big boys in town. We can do whatever we want in Mexico. What is the mexican govt gonna do? Sanction our mexican food?

Far from it because Chile, Brazil and Argentina would aid at intercepting any outside support central american cartels could get.

Yes, and we have allowed the same behavior to Chinese nationals buying up land next to our military bases and paying off key leaders (non-leaders actually) in our government. Our government is asleep at the wheel and not protecting us. They are supposed to be working for us but instead stole the election. They need to go... now.
