They've been calling it a war on drugs for decades, it's about time we started treating it like one.

Target the Cartels and El Presidente then. Not a hard adjustment to make.

Hit it hard enough and there will be plenty of construction jobs in Mexico to do that Americans won’t want to do…

I loved that movie where the U.S. Military guided a cruise missile bomb into a huge multi-Cartel Birthday Party and blew them all to smithereens. Unfortunately some kids too. But that's war.

If the Mexican president can help them in elections, Democrats are fans of foreign election interference again.

At some point, action is needed and if Mexicos President is unwilling to fix the issues that result in American deaths, we'll do it ourselves.

Invasion of Mexico would be risky, expensive and very difficult.

How about the obvious solution:
-FINISH THE GOD-DAMNED WALL AND POST THE MILITARY ON THE BORDER !!!!!!!!

The cheapest way to end the drug cartels is to legalize the drugs.

It actually wouldn't be hard to adopt the Dutch healthcare model onto our current framework.

The biggest difference with their healthcare system is that insurance companies have to offer a base level of coverage at cost. If you're too poor to afford coverage the government will subsidize the cost.

31.6 Trillion is a pretty large number, whats another 10 trillion.. hell make it 20 trillion, we could be giving way more money to people.

Let's just subsidize life ya know?

The EU and NATO can’t afford for the US to adopt Universal Health Care because…well let’s just say Putin would leave Ukraine alone for awhile. UK, maybe France and Germany, wouldn’t be part of the New USSR, but then again maybe they would.

The US would have free breast exams though. So there’s that.

…and set up an escort service for all the right reasons. (that's kid rock)
cartels are running so much 'legitimate' business in the states it's nuts.
people working for them and being trafficked by them and don't even know it.
They figured out some time ago that the way they do business would have to evolve..The legalization helps them and the prohibition doesn't hurt them..I used to think legalization would eliminate the black market..guess what..It has made it more profitable for them.
As another poster mentioned I will re iterate..They are dug in, only thing You can do is not support their business by buying into this faux state legalization that does nothing but make the cartels more wealthy..even if you legalize it at the federal level that's gonna help them too…all the states that have voted to legalize could just as easy introduce measures to the opposite and maybe the people have had a good enough taste of what legalization WITH REGULATION brings…confusion, different loopholes, and tech methods becoming better and better for smuggling..maybe the people in those states that voted for legalization are too stoned to vote now..we could flip the script maybe..and UFPs are hovering as we speak..unidentified flying pigs

Yeah...that's it! Put the fear of God in the Cartels, like we did ISIS and other terrorists. Be 10 times as "ruthless" as they are. If the local government (Mex, Hon, Col, Guat, etc..) doesn't like it...tough.

AMERICANS FIRST!

Not just the cartels.. the corrupt Mexican politicians and police and feds connected to them as well......

World is in a mess right now and there is absolutely no room for drug thuggs .

Besides, the US is going to need their money back soon and we are not in the mood to play ....

I mentioned regulation..What I mean is regulation by law enforcement. If regulation were picked up solely by the global medical industry that would solve a significant part of the cartels gravy money..Then all we gotta do is take out the AMERICANS that are enabling these shi&wads. Every silent investor, every mother trucker that sponsors these maggots, rent some storage units and let me 'us' do what we are good at..and film and broadcast it para todo el mundo.

ETA..I know people are dying, being tortured, trafficked, raped and extorted, but We can not turn a blind eye to ANY collateral damage, accepting that it could happen is almost farther than I am willing to go..but..That "Oh well" attitude breeds corruption and Y'all know it.

We already subsidize the cost of healthcare for the poor and elderly through Medicaid and Medicare. How is this any different?

How exactly is a wall going to help when over 85% of fentanyl smugglers are US citizens? Not to mention over 90% of the fentanyl coming in to the country does so at legal crossing points?

The issue here is violence/murders/kidnappings by gangmembers.
Military presence at the border will most certainly stop that and himan smuggling.

Or would you rather go for the idiot "solution" of the US military invading Mexico ?

The military is not permitted to deploy troops on US soil. Why don't the governors of the border states deploy their respective National Guards to police the border?

The simplest solution remains the wall.

It works in many places such as Israel, so it would work just as well in the US.

The only reasons people like MTG are currently pushing this "going to war with the cartels" rhetoric is because of the Americans that were kidnapped after willingly going to an area they were warned against and the fentanyl epidemic that, as we've established, is mainly supplied by Americans coming through legal ports of entry.

So, how does a wall fix either of those things?
