They’ve got a funny way of accomplishing that. They were stopped cold and retreated in the north. They couldn’t even take Kharkiv about 20k from their own border. I guess now they’re going to liberate 20% of the country

The Russian army for the second time will carry out the feat of liberating countries from enslavement by the Nazi authorities.

The Russian bear has been exposed as a paper tiger. They can’t even defeat the 25th military power in the world or establish air superiority. How do you expect them to go up against NATO ?

a few months ago there were Anti-Russians here and elsewhere claiming that Putin would be kicked out by May… and Russia would fold.

And were claiming Crimea would also fold and have ethnic Russians there kicked out etc.

Ukraine is more armed than it has ever been, with the armed forces continuing to be trained by e.g. the UK in modern warfare, and receiving Western kit. Russia is stuck in the past with its military doctrine, substandard weapons. Russia was initially pushed back and has now been pushed to a standstill.

There is only misery and death that Russia has brought. Such a sad anniversary.

A coup attempt against Putin probably relies upon Russia facing military defeat in Ukraine and economic ruin.

And were claiming Crimea would also fold and have ethnic Russians there kicked out etc.

That scenario is also subject to the war's outcome. But there is the historical precedence of ethnic or German speakers eviction from the areas formally under Nazi occupation in the immediate years after WW2.
