You are wrong. These people i have met visit Russia time to time but have chosen to live outside of Russia. They have double citizenships and are free to go there and back. Russians i have met are first very reserved but when they get to know you they are very open and chatty too.

I have nothing against Russians being happy.

But I doubt that they can be happy in the West in the next few years.

They’ll be treated better than the Soviets treated the Afghans in the 80s, Russia treated the Chechens in the 2000s, the Georgians in 08, and the Ukrainians now. So don’t worry your little heart.

You yourself testify to how Russians are treated in your state.

Russians were lied about in the 1980s, in the 2000s, in 2008, and now.

Where do you see a good attitude towards Russians here?

You are aware your government admitted to knowing about the atrocities in Chechnya?

Why do all Russians play this huge feel bad for me card? It’s pitiful and pathetic. Always acting the victim. Never to do wrong.

Do some reading.

www.hrw.org...

The failure to address what amounts to war crimes in Aldi directly contradicts Putin's statement on May 29 that "all violations of the law in Chechnya will be stamped out in the most severe fashion regardless of who committed them."

Russian authorities have themselves admitted that special riot police units (in Russian, OMON) from the city of St. Petersburg and Riazan province were in Aldi on February 5. The military procurator passed the case over to the Grozny civilian procurator, stating that OMON units do not fall under his supervision. Three civilian procurators are currently investigating the killings.

What is happening now in Russia and Ukraine is not fault of the common citizens, they did not choose that they are victims too.

As long as emigrant Russians aren't chirping the Putin song and demanding the Russian army invade to protect them, they'll be fine in pretty much any Western country of their choice.

Cheers

Maybe you should read The Moscow Times.

Gave up reading that about eight years ago .
The non stop anti Russian propaganda/ misinformation was just too boring .

Albeit a grade or two better , for example , than WaPo drivel from the CIA.

Is it really that surprising? It's kind of hard to be an IT professional when Putin isolates the country from the rest of the internet.

Moving to a place where a spiral of hatred for Russians and everything Russian is unfolding is without a doubt a very wise decision.

I honestly don't know one single person who 'hates Russians' or 'everything Russian'....just Putin, the man responsible for all this and the man who could put a stop to the madness in an instant.

I am aware that you are very fond of lying.

Even the quote says what exactly the Russian government recognizes.

Now let's listen to Putin.

Acting President and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin gave an interview to the ORT television channel

January 15, 2000 23:00

..........................
Sergei Dorenko [journalist]:

Here’s what I’d like to say. I know that you have avoided the question about the operation’s duration but the military have their own political resources. Getting reports about three casualties per day will not work in the long run. We have been saying that these are not big losses, but they mean tragedies for at least three families. If there are political resources, how long can this military mission continue? I believe that no matter how bloody it might be, it should be short. In our September 5 programme we talked about carpet bombings. They could resolve the problem in a fortnight. And now, months after this problem could have been resolved, and all villages occupied, we could debate whether this was good or bad, but, as we’ve already said, winners are never blamed. You are saying the problem is that they are using a human shield. As a result, we are accused of foul play. This is what the West is talking about, this is what the Western and even Russian media have been writing about. Those who are using this human shield are not accused of cruelty. So, if we are to play by these rules, we have two options – either start negotiations with them and avoid civilian deaths, or close our eyes and go for a quick carpet bombing.

Vladimir Putin:

We see the problem differently. I’ve already discussed it with you. We consider Chechen civilians our citizens and will never sacrifice them to any military objectives. We will never do that. As for the operation’s duration, it will be determined by military expediency.

Our actions will be tough but not cruel. What does that mean? Let me remind you what has been happening until now. Say, our troops have approached a village. If people from certain buildings offer armed resistance – I emphasize the adjective “armed” – that threatens the lives of our troops, these buildings will be destroyed. But if there is no resistance, if civilians oust the terrorists from their villages risking their own lives, we will cooperate with them. We will not simply cooperate and welcome such actions by civilians – we will win them over to our side. Only by gaining broader local support will we achieve final success – not with carpet bombings.

Sergei Dorenko:

This is a long process.

Vladimir Putin:

Yes, it will take time and patience. But it is the only civilized solution to the problem. Any other solution will not merely be useless for achieving our objectives in Chechnya, but it will not be accepted by our own people. You see, it would be a heavy burden for Russia. If we win this way, it will be a heavy burden for the entire country. I don’t think we should try to achieve our goals by such means.

Sergei Dorenko:

I’d like to ask you this question. You’ve spoken about success. Success is a political solution. In other words, military success should be replaced with a political process. After all, civilian life in Chechnya will not be determined by military garrisons. Hence, talks will have to be held with men aged between 10 and 60. Not with women probably, but certainly with men, and some of them are on the battlefield now.

Vladimir Putin:

You are underestimating the role of women. It is true that during hostilities and by virtue of certain traditions, relations are taking a different shape there. But you shouldn’t underestimate women – they play an important role in Muslim countries as well.

As for resolving major problems by political instruments, we first have to make sure that we have these instruments. This is very closely linked with what we’ve just discussed. If we decide to employ any means to reach our objectives, we will never create an environment for political settlement. There will be nobody to negotiate with, except for men aged 10–12, children. Neither women nor adult men will talk to us if we treat them with cruelty.

Random idiots....the worlds full of them.

And are you really suggesting that a few isolated morons posing on social media are representative of the majority who don't post such idiotic bollocks?

Social media is a blight on modern day living....Farcebook, Twatter et all should all be shut down with immediate effect.

I assure you, I personally don't know of anyone who 'hates all Russians' etc.....just the tyrant in control of things.

How big is your social circle?

How do you know the attitude of all these people towards Russians?

Have you conducted a survey on this issue?

Just saying from personal experience.

I have a larger and broader social circle than most.

You tried to claim that any people leaving Russia would be met with rampant Russophobia, I'd suggest something quite different.
Of course you not living here would make you eminently more qualified to give a true reflection than I am.

There are Russians living in the same town I live, a good friend of mine is married to a Russian.
i know a few Russians around the country....not heard any negative experiences from them apart from them being sick to death of people wanting to talk to them about Ukraine and hear their opinions.
As far as I'm aware they haven't received any increased anti-Russian sentiment.

But sure, you know better.

I hate to be like this, but I would do anything but hire an IT pro from Russia. Im not much into bigotry, and have to admit that this is a definite bigotry (i am singling out someone due to their national origin). But the security risks of allowing people who infiltrate through the hiring process is greater than I'd be willing to tolerate.

I don't make hiring decisions for the IT industry at all. But if i did, i'd have an ethical conundrum with IT folks from Russia and China as i'd make unethical exclusions based on national origin. It has nothing to do with how I feel about the people from those nations, and everything to do with the governments from those nations and the risk they pose to financial and national security in every western nation.

I posted what I think is appropriate.
I've explained how my opinion is based on extensive personal experience and yours is based on nothing at all.

Your claims that Russians moving to 'western' countries would be met with rampant Russophobia is based on nothing but your own acute paranoia and as such is absolute bollocks.

If you don't like that I really couldn't give a toss.

Unfortunately, when any group gets tarred they're going to face problems. Human nature is just too weak in this regard. Ask the Asians being attacked now, and other groups who a small minority do bad things and therefore become tarred with those acts even though the vast majority of the people are fine.

BTW, where are the Russian IT folks going?

I live with Russians as neighbors, they’re as fine a people as any. Don’t blame them for the acts of Putin and his regime
