I dont know about what the cops might be pissed at. But looking at those dead children at school, and if the gun obviously wasnt secured in a safe with combo known only to them, then they should be charged with manslaughter and if they are hiding out, add in resisting arrest and fleeing justice. Throw the book at these people. And if that text is true, throw an extra book at the dumbass, but really cool, mom.

USAToday reports the gun was a xmas gift from them to the kid. If so, they should be prosecuted!

No idea.
In Canada, you need to have your firearms stored in a locked gun safe, unloaded with a trigger lock.
The ammo has to be stored separated from the gun. But can be in the same container.

I’m not sure of the particulars in Michigan.

That’s what I thought too.
But from what I gathered from the prosecutors news appearance, there is no law on locking your guns up in Michigan.

I'm assuming you don't have home intruders in Canada, or the guns are not for self defense?

The lawyer is saying that the parents are not on the run and are planning on returning to turn themselves in.
Once the media said the parents were on the run, the lawyer contacted them and said they were on their way, returning to be arraigned because they left town due to their safety.
However the LEOs are saying to them if your not arrested then your on the run.

However Canadians don’t have guns for home defence.
Our Liberal justice system treats criminals like the victims.
