There is no such thing as 'sex change surgery'. There's sex exchange, and there's 'sex change', when it occurs naturally - i.e. by reincarnation to a new body after your old one has died and you've spent the appropriate amount of time in the astral side.

A physical body, etheric body, brain type, body size, feet size, muscle density, shape and amount, skeletal structure, chakra twirling direction, the energy field (yin/yang), thinking style, psychology... ALL these would have to be changed in order for a gender to TRULY change. You can't change all of these by a surgery, so all you are REALLY doing is mutilating a body, making it more dysfunctional and troublesome to use.

It won't change gender any more than a moped changes to a car by installing a sign that says 'car' to its gas tank / battery.

Why is everyone in such a hurry anyway? If you are uncomfortable with any aspect of the physical body you have incarnated into, just be brave and bear with it, you'll eventually get the chance to incarnate into a differently-gendered body. It's an opportunity you are trying to destroy by mutilating a body and pretending it somehow changes your gender. You won't be any more comfortable with the body in a mutilated form, no matter how much you pretend and eat hormones. It's still the same body, it'll feel the same, just more mutilated and dysfunctional.

I actually have the same question about murder - why be in such a hurry to 'terminate' someone's life, when you can just wait for their body to die naturally (everyone's body does)? All you're doing is disrupting their incarnation and causing a lot of trouble that way, plus enormous bad karma for yourself that you have to redeem sooner or later.

Where's the patience..?

By waiting, you can get it all - another gender (legitimate, too!), 'have someone die', and so on. Just wait, and good things will come to you.

A 30 something female relative of mine identifies as a ‘non-binary transexual’. She wants to be called ‘they’. Some days she dresses masculine and some days feminine. Her prior SO was a female non-binary trans also. Her current SO is male identifying as non-binary. All have said they want to ‘transition’. To what? I ask. Im told I dont get it.

Me, I think its a fad brought on by the earlier fad of ‘Straight Gay Alliance’ in High School that was all the rage when they were in school.

Gender is a social construct at best and a religious belief being forced upon others at worst. It is not "mental" or everyone would have a "gender identity." We don't, because most of us don't have a gender identity. And most of us don't define other people by their sex; we recognize that only physical bodies are sexed. Our sex is tangible, objective and identification thereof is replicable (even when all that's left is a pile of bones). Gender is intangible, subjective and identification thereof is not replicable because it's what anyone and everyone wants to believe it is. It is the sex that the transsexual patients are trying to replicate.

"Boys like trucks and blue" "Girls like dolls and pink" "Women are submissive" "Men are brave" These are (largely, oppressive) social constructs, which vary with time and across cultures. During Reconstruction, men wore elaborate wigs, makeup and heels. They were still men and no one pretended otherwise, nor was a it a federal hate crime to not pretend they were anything other than men. Personalities aren't genders. Preferences for particular hobbies, clothing or haircuts aren't genders. Sexual orientation is not nor does it determine one's gender. Plastic surgery, styling choices, and taking unsafe levels of cross-sex hormones does not change a person's sex. Effeminate gay men are still men and butch lesbians are still women; it's pretty much the height of homophobia to claim feminine males and masculine women are really the opposite sex and "born in the wrong bodies". It's also a religious belief, which has no place in legislation, outside of a theocracy.
