God - just 68? I genuinely thought he was older. Condolences to his family.

Longstanding health issues. Went into the hospital for surgery the other day, and didn't come out.

STRESS and HATE could have drove him over the edge.

So did I. At my age 68 seems young, a little to close to home so to speak.
As much as I disliked his politics thoughts and Prayers to his family.
Interesting times in D.C.

If stress and hate could have drove him over the edge, Trump better be careful. He's pretty stressed and full of lots of hate right now.

It seems that he had surgery on his aortic valve two years ago, so this seems a little less of a shock now. Still seems too young though, you're right.

Condolences to the ones who remain to feel the pain.

Convenient timing perhaps.

Well this is a conspiracy site after all.

Either way it will be obvious. Some recently departed didn't even get funerals.

He could well be running away right now.

It saddens me to know that any human life has ended. I disagreed with pretty much every syllable that came out of Congressman Cummings' mouth, but that is now history. My condolences to his friends and family, and may he rest in peace.

At the same time, it pleases me to see so many ATS members, some who disagreed with him as strongly as I do, expressing condolences. Well done. Very well done.

Should anyone be tempted to break this streak and launch into a hateful diatribe, let me remind you: there but for the grace of God go I, and you. We will all one day meet that which lies beyond. Do not disrespect those who are suffering right now, lest we ourselves find similar suffering in our time.

God bless all those affected.

If that's the case Trumps time will be up very soon.

I don't really respect any politicians.

They do more harm than good, usually.

They line their own pockets as their constituents go hungry.

This was Elijah's legacy.

Oh, he was the Senior Democrat on the Benghazi committee? You don't say?

Sad to see but as expected the MSM is using this mans death as a chance to justify their crusade against President Trump.

He was so virtuous in his righteous struggle against the evil Trump.

Never much cared for his rhetoric, but 68 is pretty young. I wonder what the health problems were. The stories I have read simply say he went into the hospital for health problems but dont specify what.

He had heart surgery two years ago. This then led to a surgery related infection in his knee. From what they were saying on the radio this morning, it sounds like it was ultimately related to these health issues.

I feel for his family, I know how it is to loose a loved one. It is tough, especially when it is not expected.

I could not stand to see his hateful face and attitude on TV, sometimes felt like throwing things at the TV because of the things he said and did. Seemed so filled with bile most of the time. His hate really shined through.

In the end though, he was a person, and in the end deserves a little respect. Prayers for his family.

My heart goes out to his family and friends. Their hearts are hurting today. Even when we expect death, it's still never easy. My sympathies for them all, and my prayers for Rep. Cummings.
