It's not about your guy/my guy. It's not about Republican/Democrat. It's about the country.

Sorry you can't see past that binary thinking.

Its amazing how well they manage to control people by getting them to participate in binary politics.

Oh well , here is to ball gate 2/15/19

The system is binary, the issue you could argue is not. Surely you understand the difference. Why did you avoid the fact that I'm asking about the precedent for using military funds to build the wall?

Wouldn't it have been simpler just to say, "if the issue is one I believe in, then no I won't have any problem with the next president using military money to fund their project"?

Say what?

Did you get me confused with someone else? do you know the meaning of irony?

What remotely makes you think that?

Look at my post history . I don't lock myself down to any party , ideology, or candidate. make it easy on you with just a few quick examples: here , here , here , here , here , here , here , here
, here , here , here

Were you talking about yourself ? Although , briefly looking at your post history you don't even appear to be a binary voter , it appears that you are worse as a singleton voter.

Perhaps you can show me where you have crossed party lines , ideals , or anything but pro your side?

I don't know. However, from the tone of the rhetoric on the part of the President and Pelosi, this is not going to go away any time soon. Trump is too hell bent on getting a physical barrier, and Pelosi, is hell bent on denying such to him. So the question is will there be actual negotiations or more of the same that was seen, where they submit a bill, he rejects or veto's it and the government shuts down on Feb. 15th, and we go through this yet once again.

The irony is that you're bemoaning binary politics while 'otherizing' those you believe to be slaves to it. In essence, you have unknowingly set up a binary delineation between the others and yourself.

Yes, much. I do in fact appreciate it when you answer questions posed in good faith.

So in other words, you have made up an irrelevant response that dealt with nothing about the point in reference to binary politics. Got it.

First, bemoaning binary politics does not equate to bemoaning all things binary.

Secondly, perhaps you didn't comprehend or grasp the point ? So let me clarify, the issue with binary politics is not that its "binary" perse .

Its that we have a 2 primary party system among many parties but no matter how wrong or ineffective the two parties have been, people still expect real solutions from them nor hold either party accountable, nor break away from voting for 1 of the 2 party. It could have been just as easily a ternary party system if we did the same thing between 3 parties with the same results.

Again can you show me where you crossed party lines , ideals , or anything but pro your side or are you a singleton voter?

I'm not sure why we need to beat a dead horse on this. The irony is irrespective of whatever flavor you wish to focus on. The driving factor of a binary system leverages an 'us versus them' mindset, which is what your response was evidence of. For example, You (someone avowedly immune and outside of binary politics) versus those trapped in a binary political paradigm is still ironic (and could be argued even more so).

If it feels like I'm attacking you or singling you out combatively I apologize. I really meant to call it out primarily for the humorous aspect of it.

I thought it was implied.

When I look at an issue, I am looking for: is it needed, if so how badly, will it harm anything, and what does it cost, roughly in that order. In the case of the wall, my answers respectively are: yes, badly, no, and a decent but not astronomical amount. Ergo, build the wall. If it takes the military to do it, if it means inconveniencing some people, so be it.

As a comparison, my answers to the Paris Accord were, respectively: no, not at all, possibly, and way too much. So I opposed it.

Thats where you are trying to play word jujitsu .

If it feels like I'm attacking you or singling you out combatively I apologize.

Not all ,and no need to apologize.

I really meant to call it out primarily for the humorous aspect of it.

You did , but not in the way you likely think you did.

The problem is you are using irony incorrectly.

IRONY

The use of words to express something other than and especially the opposite of the literal meaning.

At best and using some word jujitsu you could claim sarcasm. But that would be a stretch at this point as well.
