What if Russia becomes a part of EU/NATO?

Are we screwed? or Completely screwed?

Lets say Russia was some how was annexed and become apart of NATO or allowed to join EU under EU.
What is it going to be like in Asia? What will happen to all the Chinatown, etc? We all know all the Jap towns have died under US influence. Pretty sure Indian towns wouldn't exist either.

No offence but I think if you even suggest the idea of Russia joining NATO it demonstrates that you do t really know much of anything about NATO.

Also what is Russia being annexed from in this question?

No offence, but you don't seem to understand European alliance since colonization age. Go read history again. Russia was considered friendly to many European nations. It is possible can happen. Its called European brotherhood. It seems the West wants Putin out. It is highly possible Russia could be taken within due to race. Remember the Crusades and the 8 nation alliance against China. Yes, Russia was in on it. NATO seems to be expanding to Ukraine, so it is possible to merge Russia with it. Ukraine and Russia are some what of same race.

Your entire post is nonsensical. This is just the worst of it. What in Heaven's name are you thinking?

All the Chinatowns in Asia? Like, Chinese areas in eastern Russian cities? And the EU is going to make them go away?

What if Russia becomes a part of EU/NATO?

The one world government supporters would have made a significant step forward.

Well, the idea that Russia would one day be part of Europe is not so strange at all.

I am European. From experience I know that here is a significant difference between the way Europeans think of the Russians and the way Americans do.

In America you had the McCarthy period, during which a real witch hunt on "leftists" took place. The bone deep fear of 'communists' led to a total unjust and absurd prosecution of even modest left thinkers. If you grew up in the 1950's in the US, you were not likely to come in contact with the socialist, communist, let alone anarchist views on the world.

But in the EU we had a quite different perception. Even during the cold war, the Russians were mostly regarded as friends. In my neck of the woods lot's of folks drove around in Lada's, were members of a USSR friendly communist party and even larger parts of the population supported anarchism, communism and socialism. We did oppose the tiranny of the Soviet State, but not communism. The majority of the people remembered how it were not just the Americans, Brits and Canadians that liberated Europe from fascism - it also were the Russians and the Polish. We cheered when the first Russian satellites were in orbit, as we did when the yankees faked the moonlandings (at least according to some here).

So, if you'd ask: how realistic is it that Russia will be part of the EU one day - I'd say: very realistic.

But NATO? I'm not so sure.

Much better answer compared to the first few idiots on top. I did say /. That probably answers one of the questions. But not NATO expanding. They tried to even get Georgia into NATO before Russo-Georgia war in 2008.

NATO is still on going, you don't even know what the Gov is doing. This isn't past history. So your just complaining nonsense. Check Georgia joins NATO. Oh btw, Turkey some how joined NATO. People thought that wasn't possible. What a complete idiot. Warsaw Pact is dead.

I'm not sure if it comforts you, but if you simply step away from the noisy haphazard main stream media and talk to people instead, you'll find that the overwhelming majority of the people are still "peaceniks".

For the ones that feel that war solves anything, I'd like to quote Loa Tzu: Mastering others is strength. Mastering yourself is true power.

You asked a question, I provided you with an answer.

Based in the history of NATO and the current political climate, Russia will never join NATO and it’s extremely unlikely that they would ever join the EU. It’s it is also my view that by the very virtue of asking the question you are demonstrating a lack of understanding and knowledge regarding Russia’s relations with the rest of Europe.

If you don’t like my answer tough.

I'm a Boomer so I am told so when I used the term peacenik I was referring to the colleges back in the 60's 70's screaming about freedom of speech. Those same people are now the same who are promoting hate speech ie people who do not agree with their beliefs are guilty of hate.

I still agree with your premise, but not so sure you see the bigger picture.

What would the U.S. use as a fake enemy if they didn't have those pesky 'Russians' to worry about? Some political people need Russian boogeymen to feel like they didn't lose elections because of poor candidate and bad ideas.

I would have to agree. Finding common ground and learning to get along would be beneficial to everyone, however we have people in power and those who believe in them as God's that would rather see things burn than admit they are wrong in their beliefs......

very true but i think if Trump got a second term that crap will end, i know i will get called out on this and the same about a second term but as an outsider looking on whats happening in the states he is making your country look good again on the world stage and i think at the end of the day that's what all Americans want they just won't say it because they will be labeled

ok he has a mouth on him but in this day and age that's what you need and he has done a lot of good against all the naysayers and threats and the corrupt system of the world.

so i suppose i will get all the flack now lol
