The thing is, a geomagnetic storm (the thing that causes problems for electric grids) is a disruption of Earth's magnetic field. The arrival of a CME causes the field to wiggle. That wiggle causes induced currents in long conductors. Those low frequency currents (effectively DC) don't get along well with the AC currents which the transformers are dealing with. I wonder if a weakened magnetic field might actually reduce the effect of geomagnetic storms.
Of course a stronger field provides more protection than a weaker field but even in 1859 the Earth's field wasn't strong enough to avoid all the effects of the storm and we would be much more vulnerable now because now we have electric grids and depend on electricity.
Comparable duration of the dipole decay and the ADM SV timescale suggests that this event may be reaching its end soon, and therefore tend to disfavor the hypothesis of an imminent geomagnetic reversal.

I'd be curious to see if such a weakening of the magnetic field could be correlated to periods of higher mutations and perhaps acceleration of biological divergences in the prehistoric era.
3. Theoretical Possibility and Evidences of Bio-Regulatory Effects of Weak Magnetic Fields Recent genetic studies of different cell lines and primary cells provide convincing evidence of the bio-regulatory capabilities of magnetic and electromagnetic fields. Distinct changes in gene expression have been detected in cells after exposure to either radio-frequency EMF, extremely low frequency (ELF) and static fields [28,29] (Figure 2). Understanding of mechanisms of these genetic effects attracts much scientific interest. Most intriguing are mechanisms of the bioregulatory effects of weak magnetic and electromagnetic fields. The information conveyed by electromagnetic radiation (rather than heat) appears to cause these biological changes [20]. Thus, the most important and certainly the most universal are non-thermal interactions of electromagnetic fields with cellular systems. Experimental and epidemiological data as well as theoretical considerations suggest that predominantly magnetic, not the electric constituent of the EMFs, is mainly responsible for biological effects of the EMFs, by virtue of its greater ability to penetrate biological tissues [30,31]. Besides, in contrast to EMF, magnetic fields are not attenuated by most common materials. Therefore, we will focus on possible mechanisms of non-thermal bioregulatory effects of weak magnetic fields.
Following the main idea of this review, it is suggested that from 2011 until 2015 solar regulatory influences and concomitant geomagnetic field fluctuations may predispose to genetic and immunological alterations favorable to influenza epidemic spread.

Their prediction didn't really seem to pan out. But I guess it depends on what you call an epidemic.

Bad outbreak this year. Maybe it's solar minimums that do it instead. Or not.

I don't know, it's an interesting question.

On that time scale, Earth's magnetic field appears to be doing the opposite of "disappearing" as Ben Davidson says.
It should also be noted that, even though the field has been weakening, it is still pretty healthy in comparison to what it has been for quite a while. Reversal in progress? Maybe. Or not.
people who say that never come across as intelligent to me.
It's not an involuntary response based on "training", it's based on my own research and that of others. It's not the main topic of this thread so this isn't the place to go into details but you can find plenty of chemtrail threads on ATS with lots of claims and lots of claims debunked.

Whenever you even hear that someone Believes in chemtrails, you have an automated involuntary response. Like Pavlov's dogs, you do as you are trained to do and little else.
You won't even consider what he had to say because of that one thing.
