Nobody owns land.

If you really own land, and it's truly yours, then you don't have "to pay" anybody for the right to stay on that land.

Long ago, some people did own land, really own it. And anybody wanting to use that land had to pay a fee to the land owners.

Today, everybody pays the government "taxes" for the right to stay on that land. And since they pay the government this fee, it's really the government that owns the land. If you stop paying these "taxes" the government will seize the land, and take it back from you. Their right to take that land away, comes from the fact that it is their land, and not yours.

Whatever you can keep, is yours.

Whatever you cannot keep, is someone else's property.

That's a simple fact of life.

The rest is "word games" we play, to make people feel they own something, which they really do not, so that they will put all their effort in to develop that property, and make it return profit, for the benefit of the real land owners, who tax both the land and any profits made from using that land.

The government can do whatever it want's with "it's own" land.

My grandparents had a farm in northern Rhodesia which is now Zimbabwe. All the white farmers like them had to escape blood thirsty malitias who took lands and homes from white africans who were born there and can trace their roots back generations. The militias believed rhey weren't africans.....they were just as much as they are.

If SA go through with this where will the farmers go? Where will all the now homeless farmers go. This will not end well for anyone.

Other nations will take them in. Why not?

If these white farmers are so valuable, then most other nations of the world will want to have them, or some of them, immigrate there, to help develop their economies.

South African problems are unique to South Africa. The system was built up on an injustice, which held to unjust principles longer than most other nations on earth. Change is brutal. Since it's the sons of the fathers that suffer from the deeds of their ancestors, and not their own faults.

There's nobody to blame for the conditions of the present day. The blameworthy are all in their graves. Now the innocents on both sides are pitted against each other, having "inherited" the unjust system.

Of course, there are a few easily available solutions. Let every white person take a black spouse, then every family will have a black member, and all will be entitled to keep whatever they have, as a family unit, since they've all "merged" into one people.

Or, let all the whites immigrate to foreign lands, and leave the land for the blacks, letting them "re-claim" the land of their original ancestors, in the same way the Jews have re-claimed the land of their forefathers, and re-established themselves there. The Jews found a solution. So, can South Africa. If they like that model.

Or, they can fight it out. And the winner take the spoils of war. Which is another way these matters have been settled over the ages.

There's no lack of solutions.

The handwriting has been on the wall for the better part of a couple of decades.

White farmers have been murdered. Whites are not hired for jobs or get replaced by blacks.

My opinion has been for some time that if you are white and still living in South Africa, leave. The situation will only get worse.

A survey by the commission in Limpopo province, KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape found that most land reform farms show little or no agricultural activity; the land reform beneficiaries earn little to no income, and the majority of these beneficiaries seek work on surrounding commercial farms instead of actively farming their own land. Where farming is taking place on land reform farms, these farms operate below their full agricultural potential and are mainly used for subsistence agriculture. On average, crop production had decreased by 79% since conversion to land reform. In the three provinces surveyed, job losses averaged 84%, with KwaZulu-Natal suffering a 94% job haemorrhage.[14]

If this is true then all I can is it must be revenge for what's happened before. Let's face it, it was a nasty way to treat people back before the 90's but I think only those who did what they did should face the consequences, not innocent people who had nothing to do with it.

It's just racism really. The South African whites are hated by the blacks, and their murder is sometimes even encouraged. Murders of white farmers is a huge issue. This isn't a new situation. One of the previous presidents did this exact thing in the past. Land and farms were taken from whites and given to blacks. As a result, South Africa starved to the point that the president begged the whites to come back and returned their farms to them. This is the exact same thing, except the new president of South Africa says they'll do it smarter this time and not starve themselves to death and crash their economy. Weeee'llll see.

No, it's Africa. They're not a nation of laws, they're not even a developed nation. The majority of the people in most parts of Africa never advanced past the 19th Century.
